Discover the Historium, Bruges' most visited attraction, with this popular ticket and experience the medieval city like you never did before! Travel back to 1435 and see, feel, hear en smell the Middle Ages with an attraction with film, audio, special effects and virtual reality! Good or bad weather, step inside the themed rooms (with air conditioning) and brace yourself for a VR experience that you will not soon forget. After the visit, which lasts about 1h30, you can enjoy a Belgian beer in the Duvelorium Grand Beer Café on the 1st floor.

In the Historium Story we take you on a time trip to medieval Bruges. Let yourself be swept up in a wonderful love story while walking through seven historical themed rooms – magnificent medieval backdrops, with film, music and special effects. Using an audio guide you will hear everything about the Golden Age of Bruges and imagine yourself back in the time of Jan van Eyck. The Historium is located on the Market Square, where the Waterhalle used to be. This was the central warehouse for the shipping industry in the thriving trading city. The location has been reconstructed in the attraction and gives your visit an extra dimension. Anyone who wants to try virtual reality will have a wonderful adventure with the Historium VR Experience. It allows you to complement your visit with a virtual trip to Bruges in its Golden Age. Before or after your main visit, the Historium Virtual Reality takes you on an unforgettable virtual tour of medieval Bruges. From the comfort of a virtual reality booth, you travel back in time to the historical city and get to explore it interactively for eight whole minutes. You even get to see and use your hands! An intense experience.

A must do when you visit bruges

4.00Last minute decision to visit, it is a beautiful old building and very modern inside. I did the VR experience first this was very good but the VR was a bit blurry sometimes. It was very enjoyable learning about the history of bruges. After this I went to to the tour of about 7 different rooms. The audio guide tells you a story which was actually a very sweet love story as a backdrop to the famous paining by van eyck. You watch a film in each room it was really good to find later that the film is real not AI! The actors were great! It wasnt busy and when I went and I ended up alone most of the time in the rooms. Many of the rooms were really dark I guess so you can see the films better, but I found it kind of creepy especially being alone and the door locks behind you (there is a button to manually press to open it though). I wouldn't say its a scary attraction but I found 1 room a bit unnerving with a life size wax work figure of anna a character in the film, it was a bit too realistic. I enjoyed going out onto the balcony to get a lovely view of the market square. Definetly recommend visiting the attraction if you are in bruges.

4.00A very nice experience. We took the VR experience with us and I recommend this because it gives you a nice image of what Bruges looked like back then. It's like being catapulted back in time and seeing what life and commerce were like. The decor is also nicely made and it is just educational as far as the history of Bruges is concerned. Definitely worth a visit!

5.00Very accessible museum with a very nice VR tour. You walk through a kind of course and always come into another room with a story as a common thread. It is about the origin of Bruges Also very nice for children.

If you are in Bruges you must visit this unique symbiosis of art, history , storytelling and technology. You will be a huge fan after the visit

5.00Very nice and nice. A journey through the history of Bruges that takes about an hour, time passes without realizing it. Recommended absolutely. In the end a good beer 666 with a slightly fruity taste.

5.00We were lucky because we still came very close to the opening hours and thus had the entry with VR glasses and the further passage through the history entirely for our group. Overall, the whole family found the entrance to historic Bruges in the historic building including VR experience very nice.Visits to museums and other sights have joined in the coming days.

1.00Unfortunately, this was not for us. It is hosted in the most beautiful building which you get to see none of while inside. Each room is set up like a small film set with a big screen to listen to a fictional story about a couple in Bruges. There was some history about the area but it was pointless. We were done in around 25 minutes as our group was small. Only nice thing was being able to go onto the balcony and see the market square. Tower and VR experience are extra and would have cost in the region of £50pp! We were expected a historical visit around a beautiful old building - it was all brand new inside and had lost all of its beauty.

5.00Our tip: Visit this museum right at the beginning of your visit to Bruges. Then you see the city again with different eyes and can assign buildings to the city's history. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. We started by climbing the tower and had a great view of the city. Then we continued with the VR tour, which is really worth seeing! And then we went through the museum section with practical audio guides. Highly recommended!
