Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa. This 96000 hectare Park is home to the African Big 5, Wild Dogs, Cheetah and much more.
Historically this is also the Park that single-handedly saved the Rhinos from near extinction in the '60s when less than 100 Rhinos roamed the planet. King Shaka also made use of the southern section (Umfolozi) as his personal hunting grounds in days gone by.
This park not only offers the most magical sights and sounds but some fascinating historical facts. All of our rangers have numerous years of experience in their respective fields and will undoubtedly ensure that you have a marvelous day out on your Full-Day Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Safari.

Hluhluwe - iMfolozi Park Wilderness Area
Your game ranger for the day will pick you up at your accommodation at 05:00 am in St Lucia. You will then be transferred to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, Nyalazi Gate (the southern section of the Park). All clients meeting us at the Nyalazi Gate please if you would be their by 06:00 am. Once everyone is onboard your ranger will offer you an introduction to the Park, let you know regarding the area or destination for the day and you are off on a magnificent day's wildlife safari. The Park is home to the African Big 5, Cheetah, Wild Dogs and much more. Sit back and enjoy as the Bush comes alive. Early morning departures are more productive as this is when the predators are more active enhancing your chances of seeing them. The full-day Big 5 safari includes Breakfast, Bush Lunch, and Refreshments.

5.00Incredible experience with Heritage tours. Arno was ever so obliging and knowledgeable. He was so patient and ensued that all the guests were satisfied before moving on. Well worth the early start.

4.00I booked three tours with Heritage Tours. The first tour was to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. There was one couple on the tour with me. Our guide Jabu tried his best but unfortunately we didn't see many animals. Jabu arranged a braai, drinks, blankets and binoculars for this trip. The communication with Helen of Heritage Tours before arriving to St.Lucia was excellent. She started texting me while still in the Netherlands and also while in South Africa which was appreciated. I would definitely book with them again next time.

5.00We had a wonderful day with Jabu in the park, we saw a lot of animals and enjoyed every minute of the trip including the breakfast and braai. Delicious! We learnt a lot from Jabu about wildlife and the behaviour wild animals. Highly recommendation, must-do!! Booking online was easy and Helen from the office was very helpful! Great job, we are back, whenever we are back!

5.00Amazing! Guide Fred! was very professional and we had many funny conversations. He expertly showed us all the animals and told us about them. His eyesight is only slightly worse than eagle's. All the equipment were good! Easily the Best safari I have ever been.

5.00My best friend and I had the most incredible safari experience — truly outstanding from start to finish and amazing value for money. Everything was so well organised and exceeded our expectations. Our safari guide, Sofiso, completely made the experience. He was exceptionally knowledgeable, deeply respectful of the animals, and clearly cared about both their wellbeing and ours. He had an incredible instinct for knowing exactly where the animals were — it honestly felt like he just knew where to go — and because of that, we saw so much more than we ever expected. He took the time to explain everything, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt comfortable and safe throughout the entire safari. His driving was excellent and smooth, even in challenging conditions. The pickup was perfectly on time, which set the tone for a very professional and stress-free day. The safari vehicle was extremely comfortable, with blankets provided to keep us warm and even ponchos when it started to rain — such a thoughtful touch. The food provided was outstanding quality and far beyond what we expected on a safari. Additionally, Nele was incredibly helpful beforehand, providing clear and useful information before the day, which made everything easy and reassuring. This was an unforgettable safari experience — I genuinely could not think of a single improvement, even if I tried. Highly, highly recommended.

5.00We had an amazing day with our guide, Sifiso. We saw three of the Big Five and plenty of other wildlife, including three cheetahs. From start to finish, Sifiso shared fascinating insights about animal behavior and tracking. Breakfast and lunch were excellent too!

5.00We had a wonderful full day safari with Sifiso! He is friendly, funny and very knowledgeable! The breakfast and lunch that was included was delicious and the game vehicle was comfortable! We were fortunate enough to see all 5 of the Big 5 which wouldn’t have been possible without Sifiso’s tenacity! Thank you for an extremely memorable day - we will never forget it!

5.00What a day with had with Siya! He excelled in all his roles-- tour guide, driver and chef. He was patient and skilled. We saw a lot of wildlife and had a relaxed and fun time.
