An exciting PRIVATE TOUR that’s fun for all ages! Explore the rural villages around Hoi An on a unique route that takes you off the beaten path to meet locals & experience their daily lives.

Start your adventure on Cam Kim Island, where you’ll make rice papers & snacks to enjoy. Then, visit another local family to learn the art of incense stick making & try it yourself. After that, head to a peaceful village to weave vibrant bed mats from river reeds.

Drive through beautiful rural villages & later stop at a charming coffee shop for refreshments. Then, cross over the stunning views bridge & enjoy a relaxing basket boat ride under the Water Coconut Forest. Zigzag through the fish & shrimp farms and lush rice paddies filled with buffalo and cows, we'll finally explore Tra Que Vegetable Village, surrounded by fragrant herbs.

The tour lasts 4 hours without a meal, or 5 hours with a tasty meal. Choose your vehicle: US military jeep/ USSR army jeep/ Modern car.

Kha gave us a great tour and showed us parts of Hoi An we would not have seen without this trip. Great to meet locals and learn more about what they do, and even have a go at most of it. Would definitely recommend and enjoyed the Jeep for transport!

We made a very interesting tour to local Vietnamese during the rainy season. We learned how to bake pancakes from rice flour, make cinnamon incense sticks and weave bast mats. We were allowed to try the activities ourselves. It was wonderful to get in touch with Vietnamese families and gain an insight into their everyday lives. Our guide has given us a lot of information about life in Vietnam, about everyday life and also about the history of the country. We did a tour in a coconut boat on the river with a very friendly Vietnamese woman and sang along the way. The finale was a multi-course menu in a Vietnamese restaurant. The food was fantastic.

We had a fantastic time with Kha and Yian in the Army Jeep touring the Hoi An countryside and meeting local people and craftspeople, who willingly showed us their trades. We went to a pottery village, did rice noodle making with nonna, an 83 year old grandma, who was adorable, rug making, visited a coffee production place and a local co-operative vegetable garden. We loved having a go at everything and Thuan, who I first spoke to, beschanged the incense making to a pottery village, when I explained two of the party would not be able to do it. It was so enjoyable and best tour we have had during our time in Vietnam. It is not too touristy and there is no hard sell to buy anything. Well worth every penny. Do not hesitate to book.

Fantastic trip around Hoi An. Great guides Thuan & Yen provided very informative insights into Hoi An's local life. Very knowledgeable and showed us areas that we would never experience without a guide. The Jeeps were fabulous and added that history element into the trip. Suitable for the whole family. Could not fault in any way. Highly recommend!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the day tour of the countryside around Hoi an and the various home industries. We enjoyed making intense sticks, rice noodles and having a go at at weaving. Catching crabs was lots of fun as was riding in the round boats. Our tour guide Trang was knowledgeable and personable. She gave us a real insight into Vietnamese life.

We had a great bike tour with Kha of the HOI AN Biking River Islands, Villages, Local Crafts (Cam Kim Island). We did a private tour with only 2 people. Kha knows the area well and was able to navigate around streets that were still flooded. Nov 7, 2025. All of our stops with local families were interesting and we learn a lot about local life. The bikes were in good condition. I would recommend Local Buddy Tours

This tour was such a gem and a joy. If you enjoy immersive experiences this is for you. Making the rice noodles and sleeping mats was great you really got to learn and appreciate the culture. Kha our guide was amazing he had great humor and energy singing along the way. My family loved this tour alot.
