Getting there is a little tricky, but once you’ve found Alberto it is awesome. You make your way up a lot of steep stairs to his parent where he welcomes you in. Alberto takes you up to his roof top for a great view and explains exactly what will happen starting with either freshly squeezed juice or an espresso. He explains every step and you walk away with a very full belly and lots of knowledge about the town, food and how to make pesto and pasta. Highly recommend!

We travel with a 6-year old, and we all had great fun. Our daughter especially liked rolling out the pasta, and how the whole dish is called “crazy napkin”. Adults had great time too, this was the most authentic Genoese experience one can get while being pampered and completely comfortable. Starting with the view from the rooftop on a cathedral and surrounding hills, and ending with hundred plus years old Carrara marble mortar And of course Alberto was magnificent in a red bandana, explaining pesto/pasta centuries old recipes, and pampering you with so many extras - from aperitif to tiramisu ( who can eat it after so much other stuff consumed) We will cherish the memories of this marvelous evening back at home

My Italian Canadian mum and I took this cooking class and had the best time! The hosts Alessandra and Sylvia were warm and welcoming. Upon arrival we were offered focaccia and espresso, both of which were very delicious. And through the hands-on class we enjoyed sips of local wine. The meal we prepared as a group was mouth-watering and the conversation (in both English and Italian) was great. I also wanted to note that Alessandra was very accommodating, as our original booking had to be changed due to my mother being sick. Thankfully our class was not during high season and she was able to easily accommodate our booking on a different day. We would love to try another class hosted by Alessandra and Sylvia during a future visit to Genova. Highly recommend this experience!

Amazing experience ! Alberto is very nice, he explains everything and tells us a lot about pesto and its origins. He offered us plenty of complementary food and the pesto was delicious. The homemade pasta really makes a difference ! Overall, I really recommend this experience :)
