This tour takes you on a sightseeing ride around Honiara City.
Focusing mainly on significant landmarks, Cathedrals, shopping centers and central market. During the tour travelers can ask questions, take pictures, ask for directions and request for quick stops.
A local tour guide will provide a brief overview of the sites, answer any questions and translate from Pidgin to English when needed.
This is a round trip tour where pickups and drop offs is provided.

Solomon Islands Memorial Garden
This tour option begins at the Solomon Islands memorial garden. The memorial garden is located east of Honiara, at the Henderson field, the spot of the battle of Guadalcanal. The memorial garden is a lovely place to visit and reflect on what happened during the WWII. It is lined up with candle trees and plaques of various shapes commemorating soldiers who have died during WWII in Solomon Islands.The plaques beautifully set out making the whole place very moving, making one feel sad as it brings to mind what happened in this place during WWII. There are no graves in the site, it was so simple, quiet and green. In the garden travelers can take pictures and ask questions relating to the garden. Also, they can sit on available benches and reflect or pause in a moment of silence to pay respect for people who have died. Take a moment to thank them. Take off your head covering, if any, when you enter. Admission is free and the garden is spacious, it can accommodate more than twenty people.
Holy Cross Cathedral
The next stop is at the Holy Cross Cathedral. The cathedral is located in the center of Honiara on a hill near Town Council office. This is where Roman Catholic church goers go to worship on Sundays. For this stop, travelers can disembark the vehicle and visit the cathedral. They can chat with the local priest (if he is available) and take pictures as well.

5.00Great excursion in Honiara! Overall, I really enjoyed it, especially the friendly and welcoming guide who organized a packed itinerary even on a Sunday. We managed to visit plenty of interesting places, leaving me with only positive impressions!

4.00the tour was eventually combined with another pair who had booked world war two sites which was fine. pot hole tastic on the roads and the information on the war was interesting. the museum was not up to much and tanks on show were more interesting due to the trees growing in them. the two guides were very nice - chatty friendly and gave a good insight into Solomon Island life. Half day tour - in retrospect could do this walking around if you take your time - have an umbrella and keep your things safe on you.

5.00This was an outstanding tour. Our tour guide was friendly and very welcoming! This is a great way to get an overall orientation to Honiara Island. We also learned about the history of the island as well as the country of Solomon. Such a wealth of great and interesting information. The tour of the city was also amazing to get to see the various neighborhoods. I definitely recommend taking this tour when visiting Honiara!

5.00It’s a rainy day. The national museum wasn’t open without notice. However, the tour was still enjoyable: 1. The art gallery, despite the humble scale, is a real treasure. The paintings and sculptures by local talents are unique and meaningful. 2. We went to additional spots, the WWII monuments by both sides (US and Japan). They are there to memorialise and harbour the country’s past war history. The memorials present precious information for documenting the collective experience in human history and harbouring the emotional memory - which is far but still not-so-distant. 3. The warm and pure characters of the local people are the key charm of the country and the highlights of the tour. Thanks for the flexibility and organised arrangements!
