Our Hoover Dam Kayak Trip is one of the, if not the, Best Dam Trip in the World. Our trip is unique due to our above-and-beyond quest to see as much as we can on this absolutely amazing 12-mile stretch of the Colorado River. We make 4 extra Stops/Hikes/Rain Caves on this trip
Guests could choose to experience ONE of these slot canyons on a day hike during winter, but it is not accessible during summer due to the heat. We see ALL via shortcut kayaking the Colorado River.
Sauna Cave:
We’ll stop here to discover hot springs deep inside the canyon
Gold Strike Hot Springs:
We'll hike 5 Minutes to these hot springs for a quick dip, and possibly hike further.
Lone Palm Falls:
Picture Opp with a 40-foot 96+ degree geothermal Waterfall
Boyscout Canyon:
We’ll explore to see multiple 300+ Foot Horizontal Geothermal Waterfalls
Lunch and Ice Water at Arizona Hot Springs:
We’ll hike about 10 minutes up to this open Hot Spring Slot Canyon
Lastly, Emerald Cave
Finish at Willow Beach

Hoover Dam
We are one of the few Outfitters approved to take you to the base of the base of the awe-inspiring Hoover Dam. There are restricted passes and guests do need to go through an approved outfitter like us to launch in kayaks from the base of the Hoover Dam. We see Sauna Cave, Goldstrike Waterfalls, Melt Your Shoes Hot Springs, Arizona Hot Springs, Boyscout Slot Canyon, and the Emerald Cave.
Colorado River
Kayak from Hoover Dam to the legendary Sauna Cave, a 140-foot geothermal tunnel of steam. This natural wonder reaches internal temperatures over 140°F, created by intense geothermal activity beneath the Earth’s surface. We begin by driving down a highly restricted road—normally reserved only for Hoover Dam employees—thanks to our exclusive, pre-approved access passes. The drive takes about 10 minutes. From there, we launch our kayaks directly into the Colorado River. Our first stop: a man-made hot spring that looks and feels completely natural. (We’ll explain the wild backstory in person!)

5.00Our kayaking tour with Shawn was nothing short of incredible! From the very beginning, he was personable, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our trip a special adventure. Shawn’s knowledge of the river and surrounding areas really stood out—he knew all the best spots to stop and shared history about the dam and the region along the way. What made the experience even more memorable was how engaging he was with our whole family. He took time to get to know each of us and captured nearly 500 amazing photos and videos, giving us memories we’ll treasure forever. He went above and beyond in every way—preparing delicious lunches and even towing our kids (ages 13 and 10) when they got tired, which we truly appreciated. His focus on safety, combined with his friendly and fun personality, made the entire day relaxing and enjoyable. We never felt rushed—Shawn made sure we could take our time and fully soak in the experience (literally, we found all the hot springs, which were delightful). It was clear that his priority was giving us the best day possible, and he absolutely delivered. The waterfalls, Emerald Cave and other cabs were icing on the cake. We highly recommend Shawn and Adventure Child to anyone looking for a memorable and well-guided kayaking adventure!

5.00We had the most incredible day with Orlando!! We started early at the Hoover Dam and paddled downstream stopping at countless hot springs, did some great hiking (way more and better than imagined!). Orlando was great at keeping our group together and ensuring everyone was ok, hydrated and fueled up! He was relaxed and allowed us to also guide the day based on what we wanted to see. He was knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. We got to see 2 big horn sheep and their 2 babies! Booking and confirmation with the entire Adventure Child was seamless! Definitely take the day to see the sights of Hoover Dam and Colorado River - you won't regret it! Definitely a full day and full of adventure, best if you are in good shape!!

5.00Shawn and Orland were our guides. They were amazing. Multiple stops to see the beautiful natural landscape of the area, including water falls and hot springs to soak in. They gave a good balance of history, social chatting and silence which made the experience perfect. They were encouraging, positive and offered to tow anyone that was getting too tired to paddle. They also took photos and videos of the trip and sent them to us, so we could focus on the experience and not worried about getting great shots. If you’re debating on which trip -take the 7-9 hour with one of these guys. You won’t be disappointed!!

5.00Booked a full-day kayaking tour down the Colorado River with Adventure Child for my 57th birthday on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, and could not have had a better time! Our tour guide, Shawn Lewis, was absolutely amazing! He was so fun to hang out with for the entire day and showed us some out-of-the-way places that most people rarely get to see. Shawn was very knowledgeable of the area and definitely went the extra mile to make sure my birthday was a day I'll never forget! We hung out at several popular hot springs (and some that most never see), and several waterfalls (also many never see), rope-climbed rocks, and explored a few caves as well. Had a great lunch and snacks on the beach, which Shawn provided, and we just took our time enjoying every moment. You can genuinely tell that Shawn loves his job! And I can see why! The weather was perfect, and as the sun began to set, we stopped at a campsite where we met up with another camper, Castro, who hooked us up with a warm campfire, an extra sweatshirt, and a spare fuel canister to cook our dinner. Shawn whipped up some authentic Japanese ramen noodles for dinner! After that, we had about another 4 miles of kayaking down the river under the stars. It was a perfect ending to an incredible adventure! Shawn also took hundreds of pics and videos throughout the day to capture all of the highlights! And he didn't waste a moment to remind me that it was my birthday! LOL! I definitely gained a lifelong friend and priceless memories! I'm already looking forward to another adventure in the near future! Thanks so much to Adventure Child and Shawn Lewis for a birthday I'll never forget! I highly recommend this experience for anyone seeking to unplug and escape the daily grind for an amazing time!

5.00Hot yoga hot springs? Sure! You bring your poses but adventure child will get you there. Your guide knows the spots, the caves and hikes you just won’t get anywhere else. It’s obvious how much they care about your adventure and personal preference. Ditch the awful motor “tours” and put yourself in a better spot! Ask about the Rice Krispie treats

5.00Best kayak experience. Cameron was a great guide. He had lots of knowledge and knew all the best spots to stop and check things out. He told us we can just enjoy the experience and didn’t have to worry about having our phone out to capture it. He took 500 photos/videos for us of our adventure. Book this excursion! You won’t regret it!
