Thien Mu Pagoda
Taking a dragon boat to go along the Perfume river to visit the oldest pagoda in Center and South of Vietnam from 1601. There are many stories and myths about the locals and Kim Long village. Visiting the Phuoc Duyen tower, Marble turtle, great bell, Three door gate, Dai Hung main pagoda, Bonsai trees, Aston martin car of the monk who burnt himself in 1963.

5.00I booked two experiences for my parents’ trip to Hue - a Perfume River Sunset Cruise with dinner, and a Private full-day tour of Hue’s highlights the next day. They were so happy with both experiences! Perfume Sunset River Cruise with dinner: My parents spent a very pleasant time talking with their wonderful guide Ms. Van. They made tapioca prawn and pork dumplings which were cooked and served as part of their meal. Ms. Van was very friendly, had excellent English and was very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious! The only downsides were that there was a bit of exhaust fumes from the traffic during the cyclo ride, and because of the poor weather they didn’t see the sunset. But these things can’t be helped, and in no way impacted how much they enjoyed the evening 🙂 Hue City Private Tour: The following day my parents did this full-day tour. Their guide Ms. Phuong was absolutely delightful and very friendly. Her English was great, and she talked to them not just about the places they visited but also about wider Vietnamese culture and history. Their driver for the day was excellent, too. They loved the Thiem Mu Pagoda, the Imperial City, Minh Mang Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb. Ms. Phuong told them so much about each place, answered all their questions and knew the best places to take photos! They had another dragon boat ride during this trip, so got to see the Perfume River in daylight too. Ms. Phuong also took them to a craft village to see incense sticks and nón lá hats being made - they were even able to try out making incense sticks themselves. Their coffee break at the Imperial City and lunch in Hue were lovely, and they enjoyed eating typical Hue specialties. When I visit Vietnam in the future, I hope to take these same tours too since my parents enjoyed themselves so much. Thank you so much to Culture Pham Travel for making my parents’ time in Hue so special. They will never forget it! 💚

5.00What a wonderful day. Despite it raining throughout, we were chauffeured from famous citadel to famous tomb by our driver Mr Hau and exceptional guide Mr Tony. He brought all of the incredible history to life for us with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Thoroughly recommended.

5.00The tour was nothing short of perfect. Our tour guide Mrs. Trinh was probably the best guide we have ever had: extremely knowledgeable (but not overwhelming), charismatic and fun. She even helped us solve some problems with Vietnam Airlines talking to their staff, who could speak very little English. Our driver Mr. Lieu was also great, very professional and helpful. Hue is beautiful and the tour took us to the most important king tombs, where we learned a lot about the Nguyen dynasty and the country’s history. The places are really impressive. After lunch in a phenomenal local restaurant, we went to the citadel, where we also had a great time exploring the imperial city and forbidden city.

5.00This was a great day tour of major attractions in Hue. We had one day to see what we could so purchased this private tour with Tony our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we had a super driver as well.

5.00It has been a very enriching and great day in the beautiful city of Hue. Thanks especially to our guide Trình and driver Hao. The route has been perfect, well thought out and measured. Trình has taught us to pronounce well ;), he has told us history, customs, explanations that we were asking him, with much enthusiasm and generosity. They have both treated us great and we are very grateful to them.

5.00The tour guide was delightful and very knowledgeable with good communication skills in english. Our guide went out of her way to make sure we viewed as much as possible given the allotted time. The driver was also relaxed and pleasant.
A great way to learn the history of Hue and its importance in the history of Vietnam.

5.00We had a tour guild, Son, who was very knowledgable about the history of Hue. He took us to two incredible tombs, both very unique, and incredible in their own ways. We then had a delicious lunch, and an in depth tour of the Imperial City. He was friendly, entertaining, and clearly had a deep understanding of the history behind Hue and Vietnam. He had incredible stories to tell, and knew all the best spots for pictures, rest, and landscapes. We had a clean, air conditioned car with a great driver and plenty of water. If youre in Hue, I would recommend hiring these two; it really made the most of our single day here.

5.00The tour included the best highlights of Hue. The King tombs, the citadel and the pagoda. All were stunningly beautiful. Our guide Tony knew all about the sites and was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Big recommendation!

5.00Our driver, Hau, was absolutely perfect! He arrived right on time, the car was clean, comfortable and in excellent condition. He was friendly, helpful and exceptionally skilled at navigating the roads (and occasional traffic chaos). He took us from Hoi An to Hue with stops along the way at Marble Mountain, Hai Van Pass and the Lagoon. He kept us updated on the duration to each stop and what to expect when we arrived. He dropped us right at the entrance to each and waited until we were finished before picking us up again, in the exact same spot. It could not possibly have been more efficient, more convenient or easier. We got to see wonderful sites in the most pleasant way possible. Highly recommend this service - and Hau in particular!

3.00The comfort of a private visit is there but the expertise is really limited; the Guide only talks about the history of kings, nothing about the architect and very little about symbolism, religions, in short about all decorative motifs. And the command of English is not at the level. In short it was average and ultimately expensive for the level of knowledge of the guide. We knew more from our tour guides. Boat rides really have no interest, it is not even commented.
