Honokohau Marina & Small Boat Harbor
Kona is the ultimate whale and wildlife destination. Kona’s calm waters, deep coastlines, and variety of marine life make the region a world-class wildlife location. Our tours leave out of Honokohau Harbor, which has access to both near-shore and pelagic zones. Exploring the near-shore zone, you have the opportunity to see humpbacks during the winter months, spinner dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, manta rays, and flying fish. With a US Coast Guard offshore certification, Hawaiian Adventures Kona can also reach the pelagic zone- something very few tours do. The pelagic zone expands the search into waters thousands of feet deep to look for pilot whales, beaked whales, sperm whales, spotted dolphins, whale sharks, and more! Hawaiian Adventures’ tour durations allow for a greater search range, more time with whales, and more wildlife encounters on every tour!

5.00The mid-day whale watching trip was fantastic. The ship is modest in size but comfortable and didn't feel crowded. Captain Andrew, Olivia and Dennis took great care of us, knew their marine mammals and really knew where to find the whales. They found a pod of Humpbacks being 'teased' by bottle nose dolphins with lots of actions akin to irritating younger siblings. The dolphins were also playing around the boat. We also saw flying fish and an endangered scalloped hammerhead shark cruising the surface. Great fun

5.00Excellent tour! Saw 6 whales and some dolphins. Fun, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. What go on this tour again. Not to many people on the boat great viewing.

5.00Very knowledgeable crew that took great care of us! Explained in great detail about all the animals we were seeing and the migration of the whales. Got to see several whales, spinner dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, and flying fish along the way! Perfect sunny day with clear royal blue water all around us! 5.00Although it was an early morning start it was all worthy. We had an amazing experience with a nice, funny and knowledgeable crew, fantastic and comfortable boat, several whales. The cherry on top an amazing impromptu dolphin show that no one was expecting! Loved it.

5.00We had an awesome experience!!! You never know what you will see, but we were blessed to see spinner dolphins, manta rays, bottlenose dolphins, but the best of all, the humpback whales put on a show for us. The came up to our boat and swam around us. We had the best experience with our guides. Thank you!

5.00Great time. Crew was informative and made the trip fun. They went above and beyond on extending the trip when we found humpbacks at about the time we were scheduled to turn back. We got back to the dock about an hour later than advertised to give us time with the whales. Clearly the crew values the experience. We will bring friends back in the near future

5.00Wonderful. Boat is so clean, staff is so knowledgeable. Saw and heard whales. Got in the middle of a 100+ pod of dolphins. Everyone really enjoyed our trip. Dont miss it.

5.00We live this company! Last year we experienced a one in a lifetime event worh two sets of whales cing up total he noat and staying around for 30 min each. This year we went again and experienced a large pod of spinner dolphins and then 4 whales. The captain and crew dropped a hydropone into the water and we were able to clearly hear the whale sounds for over 5 min. Would we go again? In a heart beat! Highly recommend Hawaiian Adventures!
