Whether you are a beginner or expert, old or young, these friendly horses with their alert and willing nature are indeed a pleasure to ride in their natural surroundings.

You will be picked up at your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavik and drive only 15 minutes away to your horse riding destination. You will then get all basic gear, such as helmets, boots and rain clothes (snowsuits in wintertime). Information will be gathered about how much you have been riding and so the proper horse will be matched to your experience. After the ride we will take you back to your hotel or guesthouse.

5.00A fantastic experience from being collected and dropped back to central Reykjavik. The family run farm is so professional and friendly. The ponies are so friendly and well looked after and time was taken to choose the rider to the horse depending on experience. A really worthwhile morning spent at Laxnes. Thank you

4.00Went on this tour on a very cold day in January of 26'. This was a very enjoyable tour, however I won't say the most scenic horseback riding tour we've ever been on. However, I admit I may have underdressed/layered for this tour so I was more focused on the cold. Near the end of the tour I didn't notice my right boot had froze to the stirrup. I ate it good getting off the horse which in hindsight was hilarious and has made for many a funny dinner party story. Dress warm and gitty-up!

5.00We booked a tour on March 24, 2026 at the Laxnes Horse Farm for a ride and horse cuddles. The team at the farm were wonderful. The horses adorable and sweet! The farm beautiful. It was a cold day for a ride but it was worth it. Our photos were great! I highly recommend going there for a tour if you love horses and have the time. We will always remember our horse ride in Iceland!

5.00Be prepared for all weather, you could experience all forms of precipitation while you ride. A warm jumpsuit was provided along with gloves and a riding helmet, but bringing a face cover would be a good idea. It was a great ride and the horses are very kind and gentle. It was a nice ride along the base of the mountains next to a stream. I would definitely recommend.

5.00I had the most amazing time with a group of friends. The family were the kindest people and I will absolutely be coming back. They were so patient and sweet and instantly make you feel welcome. What an incredible experience and 100% worth the price!

5.00I really enjoyed this experience. The staff was really kind and helpful. They provided us with all the gear needed for the horse ride. They assigned us a horse depending on our riding experience. It was only my second time but I felt safe and the tour guide was checking on us during the ride to make sure everyone was ok. The landscape was also amazing. At the end they gave us a hot drink to warm up and a nice cake. I would definitely recommend this tour.
