Whether you are a beginner or expert, old or young, these friendly horses with their alert and willing nature are indeed a pleasure to ride in their natural surroundings.

You will be picked up at your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavik and drive only 15 minutes away to your horse riding destination. You will then get all basic gear, such as helmets, boots and rain clothes (snowsuits in wintertime). Information will be gathered about how much you have been riding and so the proper horse will be matched to your experience. After the ride we will take you back to your hotel or guesthouse.

5.00The Laxnes horseback riding trip was so much fun. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. We felt very comfortable riding even though it has been quite a few years since we last rode. The scenery was beautiful.

5.00This ride is amazing. It is a very peaceful ride and the scenery is so beautiful. When we visit Iceland we always do this ride. We will definitely be back to do it again

5.00Horseback riding at Laxnes horse farm was great! My favorite Christmas movie is Frosty the Snowman, so it was a wonderful surprise that the name of the horse I rode was Frosty. The trail had some great scenery and views of the mountains and the city.

5.00Loved this tour! We had a mix of ages (9-43). Our group was small - only our family, and we had two guides. Loved getting to talk to them, learn more about Icelandic horses, in particular, and got to try out tolting! The same family has owned this stable and land for many decades, and it’s wonderful getting to hear their stories! Definitely recommend. Their pickup at the hotel was timely and comfortable, also, which made the trip an easy one!
Loose dogs almost sent us down a cliff.

1.00The grandfather and dad are amazing. The kids who do the tours are horrible and rude. We rode and on the return the horses spooked because dogs were off the leash. The kids who do the tour are not friendly and seem like they loath the clients.

5.00This was a last minute plan. I booked this excursion an hour before it was going to start. Then I called to confirm they got my reservation and they did! I had an amazing experience from start to finish. This was my first time riding a horse that wasn’t walking in a circle from a petting zoo. The horses know what they are doing and the views were so calming. The cost covered everything you need, you get a suit to protect your clothes. I would love to this again.

5.00Beautiful and peaceful! Truly enjoyed our time! Just an FYI the van that picks you up has their name on it so no need to ask every white van driver if it’s them lol!

5.00A fantastic experience from being collected and dropped back to central Reykjavik. The family run farm is so professional and friendly. The ponies are so friendly and well looked after and time was taken to choose the rider to the horse depending on experience. A really worthwhile morning spent at Laxnes. Thank you

4.00Went on this tour on a very cold day in January of 26'. This was a very enjoyable tour, however I won't say the most scenic horseback riding tour we've ever been on. However, I admit I may have underdressed/layered for this tour so I was more focused on the cold. Near the end of the tour I didn't notice my right boot had froze to the stirrup. I ate it good getting off the horse which in hindsight was hilarious and has made for many a funny dinner party story. Dress warm and gitty-up!
