Enjoy a personalized small group tour of Larnach Castle and Dunedin City. This is a 6 hour fully guided tour that lets you explore Dunedin and Larnach Castle at a leisurely pace. Included is a fully guided tour of Larnach Castle's unique interior. Chilled spring water is provided complimentary to those who bring their own re-useable water bottles.
The tour takes in many interesting buildings and landmarks in Dunedin city such as the Larnach family tomb, the old University and all the main city attractions. The drive to Larnach Castle offers spectacular views from the Otago Peninsula with a lookout stop along the way. On arrival at Larnach Castle, your table will be reserved for lunch at the Ballroom cafe (lunch is own cost). After lunch and the guided tour inside the Castle, your guide will also take you through the award winning gardens offering fantastic views over the Otago Harbour.

Some steps to negotiate during the tour of Larnach Castle
The Castle interior is not wheelchair accessible, however the Castle Gardens, Gift Shop and Ballroom Cafe are. Please notify us if you intend to bring a fold up wheelchair or walking aid on this tour.
Passengers must be able to get on and off the bus steps unassisted.

Drive through the oldest cemetery in Dunedin and view the spectacular family tomb of William Larnach. Designed by famed architect Robert Lawson in the image of Dunedin's Scottish First Church. The cemetery hosts a number of exquisite grave sites belonging to wealthy prestigious Dunedin people, nestled on a lovely wooded hillside.

5.00We had a fabulous day trip with Ann, who was accompanied by her son Dustin in highland dress. We thought we were just going to Larnach Castle but made stops at the Railway Station, the Octagon, Baldwin Street, the worlds steepest street and the University as well. Ann was an excellent tour guide and full of information about the area. We had plenty of free time at Larnach Castle to enjoy the spectacular views. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00What a great day. Kim and son Dustin were on time at the Cruise Port terminal and looked after us from 10 am to 4.30pm. We toured all over Dunedin town and in the afternoon Larnach Castle. Kim explained everything in such detail and nothing was a bother to him. Please contact Iconic Tours when in Dunedin and you will have a great experience. And Kim is a good bloke.

5.00We had a fantastic day with our exceptional guide, Kim. One of the main reasons I chose this tour was the guided visit to Larnach Castle—and Kim truly brought it to life with his passionate storytelling and deep knowledge. I’m especially grateful for his kindness and thoughtfulness throughout the day. He went out of his way to make an unscheduled stop at the Yuan Garden just for me, and when my mum was struggling with blisters, he kindly took the time to buy her some bandaids. His care and consideration made the experience all the more memorable.

5.00Small group tour with a fabulous driver/guide to Lanache Castle. We were greeted at the castle by the guide Anne’s sons in full highland dress & playing bagpipes which added to the wonderful experience.

5.00Our tour guide was the lovely vibrant Anne, owner of this family wonderful business. From the start Anne was punctual and well organised in the pick up from the cruise ship port. Her knowledge and passion for the Dunedin area and Larnach Castle was outstanding. Her family have been involved in highland dancing and we were blessed to see one son play the bag pipes and the other perform the highland fling. An amazing experience was had by all on the bus and we highly recommend this tour.

5.00Awesome excursion! We were able to see everything thing on our list. Our tour guide was great and had a wealth of knowledge and was also fun! We had a small bus that held about 20 and was easy to get in and out of. Highly recommend this tour.
