Machu Picchu
After breakfast, we will take a thrilling adventure flying through the air, 150 meters above the ground. This adventure includes 5 zip-lines on some of the highest, fastest, and safest zip lines out there, harnessed and attached by pulley to the double cable anchored in 2 different mountains and canyons; the longest section is 600 m long and the highest is 180 m high. The maximum speed reachable is 70 km/h. This adventure is optional but highly recommended for those seeking an adrenaline rush and a unique perspective of the jungle below. Passengers can choose hiking instead of the zipline experience. After our thrilling morning, we will drive to Hydroelectric, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will continue our journey, walking to Machupiccu town (Aguas Calientes). We will have dinner and stay our last night in a hostel, at the foot of the great Machupicchu.
Machu Picchu
We will leave at 4:30 am to hike to Machu Picchu (one and a half hours) to arrive to appreciate the magnificent city as the sun rises. Your guide will provide a two-and-a-half-hour walking tour of this lost city, shedding light on issues about the design of their housing and family living situations. After your guided exploring tour, you have the free time to continue exploring or choose to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (an additional USD 50) to gain an even better panoramic view of the entire area (this is an extra 45-minute walk, and with limited availability, please arrange this activity when you book your adventure with our staff in the office). We will return back by foot to Aguas Calientes, where you will take the train to Ollantaytambo and then be picked up and bussed back to Cusco.

Wow!!! There are not enough stars to properly rate this experience with Southern Peru Explorers. We did the Inca Jungle trail. It was everything we wanted and more. We are fairly adventurous and active in our early 30s. This was the PERFECT balance of fun, adventure, history, learning, local experience, chilling, and good vibes. On the logistical side, Joel was incredibly professional and thorough. He clearly explained to us every detail of the itinerary. He handled fairly complicated logistics involving trains, buses, accommodations, meals, and the various activities. We did not have a ticket to machu pichu, and he adjusted the trip itinerary so that we would be able to get the ticket we needed at the exact time we wanted. Communication was perfect and easy throughout. Then there is the tour itself. Wow. Our guide, Andy, is one of the most impressive human beings we have ever met. Very knowledgeable about every topic imaginable, particularly the history of the region and its people and culture, knows how to have a routinely, constantly had us rolling on the ground laughing, a great guy. Biking downhill into the jungle was super fun. We were skeptical that river rafting would be too easy, but it turned out to be INSANELY fun and the scenery was spectacular. The hiking portion was one of the highlights, with a perfectly planned stop to hot springs at the end of a long day trekking. The towns we stopped in were really cool as well, and we met loads of interesting people. Accommodations were all super clean, and the meals were delicious. Machu pichu was cool too, but it was the journey there that stole the show. If you are looking for jungle scenery, variety of activities, culture, history, cool people, relaxation, and adventure, but don’t quite feel up to a 5 day death march on the Salkantay Trek with 10+ hours of hiking a day, then this is the trip for you. We are very grateful that we found these guys, and will never forget this experience.

One of the best decisions I could have made was to do the Inca Jungle with Southern Peru. From the first moment they gave me security, all the very clear information, tips and recommendations! The activities were very entertaining, the hotels very comfortable, clean and the food exquisite! The guide Gustavo was very friendly, friendly and always attentive to everything, as was Joel, who was always in touch with me about how my experience was going. I am so grateful to Southern Peru, they gave me an unforgettable experience! I would definitely book with them again.

The trip was amazing. We enjoyed the variety of the accommodation and food. The trip was matched to our capabilities perfectly. We were 3 adults with varied fitness levels & a 16 year old & a robust 12 year old. Despite the varied nature of the group, it was still challenging & interesting for everyone. Our guide Jhimmy was patient, informed, and super helpful. His knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm made a great trip even better. We've been to Europe, Aus, Africa, & SE Asia as a family. This was our favourite trip. We highly recommend Joel, Jhimmy, and the team for the Jungle Inca trek. Thanks from Lia, Kevin & family

I had a great experience in this trek! The jungle hikes were memorable and full of adventure. Andy was a knowledgeable guide to the cultures of the Inkas and Quechuas. I loved the zip line, riding bicycles, and paddling along the Urubamba River. Thank you for good energy on this tour!
