The workshop includes sharing pottery decoration techniques and fun. Visiting and working in a professional ceramics studio is a unique experience. Our artisan workshop is accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The opportunity to try your hand at this craft tradition will create a unique and memorable experience.

Wendy and her husband Eric are the founders of Taller Gingell. Reviewed as "a new generation of exceptional artisans"⁠ and highlighted as "artisan projects you should know in the fashion world"⁠⁠ according to Marie Claire, Condé Nast Traveller and others.

Wendy’s exhibited her work in Europe and North America, including at the Smithsonian, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barcelona Design Museum and the American Craft Council craft shows. Her work is part of permanent museums and private collections in North America and Europe

Intensive Handbuilding Course A one week course of dedicated teaching and studio work. Ideal for mastery of key ceramics skills and enjoy dedicated time to build a body of work. Your teacher, Wendy, will lead during this 20 hour course over 5 days. Sign-up on your own or with a friend - this is an open, friendly environment. No prior ceramics experience is necessary. Everything is included. No need to bring anything special with you. We’ll have an apron ready for you. Each student can select upto 5 items to kiln fire. Instruction is in Spanish and /or English based on your preferences. What you’ll learn and what we’ll do The course is 5 consecutive four hour classes Monday - Friday. Each class is designed to introduce specific techniques during the first two hours. The second two hours are individual construction with dedicated instruction. Learn essential handbuilding techniques. These skills are used to create functional and sculptural work. This provides the foundation for nearly any handbuilding project. By the end of this course you learn many clay hand building techniques and produce some unique ceramic pieces. This course is suitable for all levels.

Wendy is a wonderful and enthusiastic teacher. She works with small groups: just my daughter and me. The course was fully adapted to our questions and interests. Learned many new decoration techniques. I highly recommend this course!

This review has been a long time coming! I absolutely enjoyed my intensive course and Taller Gingell did everything within their means to accommodate my learning experience with professional teaching and master level instruction. I highly recommend the intensive hand building course and absolutely endorse Taller Gingell! Do not leave Barcelona without attending this class, you will be forever changed and will learn everything you need to know about hand building. I enjoyed the company of Eric and Wendy, they were generous hosts and let me design my own courses. I expanded my technique and learned sculpting, hand building, mold making, and kiln testing glazes and under glazes. My ceramic ability has definitely grown during this week. Thank you Wendy, Eric and team!!! Was a week filled with wonderful experiences! I would recommend to anyone, and at any level.

The course is intensive and very well prepared! I enjoyed every moment because Wendy and Eric are great teachers, they follow everything you do and give suggestions on how to improve your ceramic skills. The atmosphere in the studio is very pleasant. All recommendations for this course :)

Incredible! I had 5 days with Wendy one to one. I just can’t recommend this course highly enough to anyone new or experienced in hand building ceramics. Wendys knowledge and her ability to teach and share her experience and expertise were outstanding. Her working studio is a great spot. I’m going home with a teapot, vase, cup and ceramic stamps that I made in completely my own style, and will be bisque fired and well packed when I pick them up in a couple of days Next time I’m in Barcelona I will be doing this course again and I can’t wait to get home now and put everything I learned into practice.

This is the second time that I joined the course at Taller Gingell with Wendy and Eric and I am impressed with every detail of the course! Everything is perfectly planned, every step is explained, and they make sure to really follow how you work and give you suggestions. At the end we got the photos that they took during the process. All the recommendations!
