Our Isla Tortuga boat tour is a full day all-Inclusive activity. Spend a wonderful day at the beautiful white sand beach of Isla Tortuga. Enjoy a light tropical beach lunch, chill in a hammock on the beach, engage in a volleyball game or put on a mask and explore the coral reefs and its colorful fish.

As a special treat, we also take you past another island that is inhabited by spider monkeys. When they come down to the shore, you can get a very close up encounter with them.

This tour, which is all day from 9am to 3:30 pm, offers a lot in one package.

Isla Tortuga is famous for its Caribbean-like white sand beach and transparent turquoise water. Just off the beach you’ll find some volcanic rocks excellent for snorkling. This island is located in the gulf of Nicoya, just outside of Paquera.

Don’t hesitate to book this Isla Tortuga tour! Juan, the captain, was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the area, and he brought us to a quiet, uncrowded spot for snorkelling. It was my first time snorkelling and his clear instructions made the whole experience really comfortable. They also provide flotation devices, which I appreciated. We spent a lot of time snorkelling and only about an hour on the island itself, so there wasn’t much time to relax on the beach. But most of our group wanted to snorkel longer and Juan took us around to show us all the best spots. I brought my waterproof camera and he even free-dived to capture some incredible videos for me! Isabella, the chef, prepared a wonderful lunch, which was very much needed after all the swimming. My husband and I are vegan and they accommodated us without any issue, so definitely let them know if you have any dietary restrictions. The owner (whose name I didn’t catch) was also very lovely. We only wish we had time to do their bioluminescence tour as well. Overall, one of our favourite experiences in Costa Rica!

I’m probably spelling his name wrong but chacko was amazing ! Super knowledgeable and showed us so many cool fish and sea creatures all while keeping us very safe. It was a great experience. We also received lunch , fruit and refreshments!

This experience has been just amazing. The owners of Bahia Rica and the staff (Juan: captain and guide & Isabel: cook) were so kind, knowledgeable, welcoming and considerate towards everyone’s needs and demands. Juan is a LOCAL (born and raised in the area) guide whose expertise was unparalleled. He made the best out of the sea conditions and allowed us all to enjoy a personalised experience. Some did snorkelling others went on dive with him where they saw rift sharks. He found and, respectfully, showed the people on the boat different sea species (puff fish, starfish, sea urchins, etc.). The food was delicious and the island is just stunning. 100% an experience I’d do again. Even catered for our 4yo girl’s needs at all times. Just a perfect family day!

Amazing tour. Great tour guide that had years of knowledge about the island and good places to go. Really good food. Plenty of beautiful scenery and animal sightings. Highly recommend.

Such a wonderful experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island and those around. Our guide went above and beyond to show us the different wildlife. I would definitely recommend this!

Thanks to our wonderful guide, Juan, we had an amazing day exploring Tortuga Island. He seemed to know the secret hiding spot of every animal, and we were lucky enough to see spider monkeys up close, hawksbill sea turtles, white-tip reef sharks, angelfish, triggerfish, parrotfish, pufferfish--and wild pigs. Tortuga island itself was beautiful and lunch delicious. On top of that, Juan (whose English was perfect) spent so much time chatting with my son about fishing — it completely made his day. Truly a perfect experience from start to finish.

My family and I had a great time on this trip. Juan was our captain and he did a great job hosting us in everway. He was informative and interactive. We got lucky to have a boat to ourselves and that was wonderful. Make sure to snorkel and try a oyster and scallop! The food they prepared was yummy and the beach was a wonderful place to kickback and enjoy the view. Thank you Juan, Thomas and Bahia Rica for a wonderful time

Snorkelling is always a good time but can be tricky in the rainy season as the visibility is lower. But if you have a good guide like we did, he knows exactly where to bring you. Juan grew up in the area and has been guiding tour since he was 16 years old. He knows all the spots and can pick and choose based on the weather conditions. He didn’t just drive the boat, he was in the water with us the whole time, diving down and picking up different starfish and other animals for us to see and touch. Lunch was made by Chavella which was super tasty and much appreciated after a morning of snorkelling! Then we got to hang out on the beach for a bit before heading back. A great day on the water learning about the local islands and marine life.
