This is a tour which combines the old with the new, cultural with commercial, business with pleasure.
The rose gardens at Jebel Akhdar have been flowering as long as the villagers can remember. The scent of the rose has been valued for centuries, and harvesting its much-valued perfume continues today, in a mixture of traditional and modern methods.
The ancient city of Nizwa, once the capital of Oman, boasts a beautifully renovated and restored fort, and the UNESCO world heritage site of Falaj al Daris (an interconnected waterway complex)- still in every day use today.

We will depart from Muscat and drive directly to Hajar Mountain Range. We will ascend Jebel Akhdar and drive directly to the Rose Factory, and tour the rose gardens

A moderate hike through the ancient and picturesque village of Balad Sayt and a photo stop to watch the sun setting, before descending the mountain and spending the night in a hotel in Nizwa City.

After breakfast at the hotel we will tour the Nizwa Souq, and visit the imposing and beautifully renovated and restored Nizwa fort.

Nizwa Fort has been beautifully renovated and is an impressive display of early Islamic architecture
Falaj Daris Park
The UNESCO world heritage site of Falaj al Daris, an interconnected waterway complex which will lead us to the historical town of Birkat al Mouwz. From here it is an hour and half trip back to Muscat.
Birkat Al Mouz Ruins
Birkat Al Mouz village, where you will see the banana and date palm plantations, Al Falaj and a restored Fort

5.00Visiting the rose farms during the harvest season had always on my list . I finally got a chance to witness the most beautiful roses and Oman which is so close to my heart for its culture , scenic beauty and the heritage . We had an amazing guide from Nizwa who picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the mountains . JA is a must visit during the rose harvest which happens from late March- April . Ibrahim our guide was amazing. +968 9259 6884
