Head towards Jerash; one of Jordan’s most important Roman Sites. The area’s high point was during Roman rule (in 63 BC), and it has been inhabited for more than 6500 years. Admire temples, theaters, colonnaded plazas as well as an amphitheater, and discover settlements dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
Proceed to Umm Qais, which was previously known as Gadara; mostly known for the famous miracle f the Gadarene swine. It was also a home and cultural center for many poets and philosophers. Discover this ancient city, its colonnaded streets, terraces, and ruins.

Jerash Ruins
Explore some of Jordan’s historical treasures on this full-day private tour to Jerash, Ajloun, and Umm Qais from Amman. Head towards Jerash and delve into its rich history as you explore its colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, amphitheater, public squares, plazas, and temples. Jerash is one of the best preserved classical sites; a rich and prosperous Greek and Roman city. It was founded by Alexander the Great around 331 BC, it later became one of the great Decapolis cities of the east. It is also a Bronze settlement where you can find the Temple of Artemis, the Forum, the oval plaza, as well as Hadrian’s Arch. Learn about the city and how it rose with a Greek federation, and then lived through the Muslim and Christian rule, which eventually fell during the Crusades.

5.00My driver Ibrahim made the entire journey seamless and made great recommendations of places to stop in between the main spots. The guide I hired at the first site (common since most tour operators are really private drivers and don’t provide local guides) came with us and they worked together to take me to places I was interested in. I really enjoyed the fact that Ibrahim restocked water each time we stopped and had WiFi available in his car. Recommended starting at Umm Qais and making your way back to Amman. We did this route and it was really nice to come back to my hotel in 30 min vs 90 min.

Abu Farah is extremely knowledgeable and has a deep passion for history. Our conversations throughout the journey were genuinely enjoyable, enriched with fascinating historical insights and stories that made the trip even more meaningful. His ability to speak five languages is truly impressive and made communication effortless and smooth. What really stood out was his kindness and generosity. He was very flexible when we had changes in our plans and handled everything with such a positive attitude and a warm smile. 5.00As the title says, we truly appreciate our third (!!!) tour with our amazing driver Ibrahim - he has attended us on our trips to petra/wadi rum , madaba/mount nebo/dead sea AND today to our tour in Umm Qays/Ajlun castle and Jerash. We couldn't be happier with him as our driver since he made sure to tell us the most imprtant information of each of these destinations and always gave us some tipps for our time out there! I will make sure to book him again next time I visit and I advise you to do the same. I truly don't have enough space to tell you about our amazing time today but to summarize it, please don't miss out and book this tour!

5.00My experience with Khalid Najjar was amazing. The tour felt more like a friend showing me the country rather than a paid driver. He was so full of knowledge of the areas and culture and really added to the depth of the tour. You don’t need to hire private guides at the sites, as Khalids knowledge is very extensive on all the sites. Additionally he always made sure to ask if I wanted to stop for pictures and I never felt rushed or that the tour was time limited. Overall I had no negatives and I highly recommend Khalid Najjar as the best tour driver.
