Insightful and broad experience of Jerusalem

5.00We had a great tour with Harley who was very knowledgeable and gave an interesting perspective on the area as a retired archeologist. The tour covered a nice range of sights. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the way of the cross and the Western Wall were particularly interesting to us. What we particularly liked were the points of information along the route such as showing us Jordan in the distance, the different trees, why Starbucks was never a success in Israel, just little things like that while walking along. We would definitely recommend taking a tour like this to better understand and experience such a historically and culturally rich area.
A hike that is highly recommended!

5.00In depth archeological tour by Harley. He was fantastic, so knowledgeable and pointed out things we never would have noticed from invasive capers to recognizing herodian stone. Harley is delightful and made us feel like residents rather than tourists. We enjoyed the western wall tour as an add on, thank you!!! We’ve done walking tours on other visits and Harley made this THE BEST EVER. This is one tour you should not miss, no matter how many times you visit Jerusalem!

Our guide, Avi was incredibly knowledgeable, bringing the city’s rich history and diverse cultures to life with fascinating stories and insights. From the ancient alleyways to the holy sites, every stop felt meaningful and beautifully connected. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Jerusalem’s complexity and spirit—highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!

5.00Harley is a very knowledgeable guide. I was able to customize my tour in advance (for an extra fee) to see the underground tunnels by the Western Wall, the City of David, and the tomb of King David, all of which had not been covered during my previous tour of Jerusalem. From what I understand, tickets for the underground Western Wall tunnels need to be secured days in advance by the company.

5.00We did 3 tours with Genesis Boutique Travel. All three were so well organized and fascinating. Our main tour guide was a gentleman named Michel. Taking a tour with Michel was like having your own private college professor on Everything Israel! He knows the layers of this land’s history like he knows the back of his own hand. He starts each topic with the historical context, gives everyone’s perspective along the way, and then weaves in his own family history. He answered hundreds of questions by my family and then threw in a few jokes on the side. What impressed my family the most was the humanity and honesty that he brought to our discussions. We would recommend having Michel as anyone’s tour guide! One of the tours was to the Magal Kibbutz, and there, also, we learned so much about the history of that unique institution. And we learned the secret to the “blooming of the desert,” namely “drip irrigation.” We spent about 3 hours on the kibbutz so we also got to observe how it works today. Our kibbutz guide, Michael, was a great guide and inspirational person.
