This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Fiordland National Park - far from the crowds found elsewhere. Fiordland Jet is is the only scenic commercial operator on these waterways, which means guests can enjoy an authentic kiwi experience in a small, personalized group tour.

As a locally owned and operated business, we are taking tourism back to what it use to be - personal - and invite you to explore our beautiful home as one of the family. No rushing. No lines. Just wide open spaces and jaw dropping scenery.

This is not the typical jet boat 'ride' - this is a journey - time to explore and learn about this amazing area and its rich history all while having heaps of FUN!

Begin your tour at our office on the Lakefront of Te Anau with plenty of free parking and secure storage. Get fitted for a spray coat, life jacket and if needed any cold weather gear (hats, gloves, blanket). Next take a short ride through Southland farms to the Queens Reach Boat Ramp where you'll board the boat with ease thanks to convenient ramps. After a short safety brief it's time to hit the water! Travel down the Upper Waiau River with crisp Fiordland air rushing by, crystal-clear waters below and stunning views all around. Pause along the way to learn about the area and it's rich history, have some laughs, spot trout swimming just off the boat, re-imagine Lord of the Rings from 3 film locations and even listen to native birds as your driver quiets the engine for a spell. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities plus high-speeds and spins - which are great fun for all! Emerge onto Lake Manapouri and embrace true silence while surrounded by towering mountains and a view that will leave you speechless. Disembark into the National Park for a short guided nature stroll among native flora and fauna. Jump back in the boat and head back up river for more FUN!

Had a great time on this tour. Great way to explore parts of Te Anau from the water not accessible by car or bus. Our guide Alex was enthusiastic and bubbly, it really didn't feel like she was there just as part of her job, you could sense her passion for what she does. The boat stunts were fun, something different you don't normally experience on guided tours.

This was an awesome time! Our boat driver / tour guide Alex gave us a five star experience. And our bus driver Lucy was spot on with her recommendations on where to dine in Te Anau - also a five star contribution! Highly recommend!!

Alex (and Lucy) were THE BEST! Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We came on our Tauck tour Nov 12th and had a blast!! Those spins, the views and the whole ride was quite the experience. Thank you for everything.

Awesome boat ride along a beautiful river, our skipper did an excelent job of both driving the boat and stopping from time to time to give us information not only about the river itself but also piints of interest alone the banks.

Did the Jet boat tour of Lake Manapouri with my wife and our daughter. We had an absolute blast! Alex, our guide and boat driver was fantastic!! Amy, who got us all kitted up and drove us to where we boarded the boat was great as well. Would highly recommend!

Exhilarating ride that got my adrenaline pumping! The crew was super organized and got us all suited up on a cold rainy day. Our captain Chris was funny, informative, and an excellent driver. I had a great time, and I’m so glad I signed up for this optional excursion. I was on a grand Circle tour. We all loved it. We needed something like this to wake us up after a long travel day.

Took this journey because our Glow Worm tour was cancelled and SO GLAD we did. They provide everything, coats, hats, gloves, glasses to allow for a comfortable experience. We were on a Tauck tour and had a Jet Boat trip scheduled later on our tour but this was 100%+ better. Chris the owner was our guide and he was outstanding. He gave a great safety briefing and was constantly checking with the his passengers to make sure they were enjoying the trip. He told us he would be doing spins with each one getting a bit more aggressive and confirmed with us the next level spin was good with everyone, IT WAS! We also had a walk in the forest and drank crystal clear water from the lake. Chris also showed us with pictures where some of the scenes from Lord of the Rings was filmed. If you are in Te Anau don’t miss this ride!!
Alex made our experience so much better!

Went out on a rainy, overcast afternoon and we were a little apprehensive about enjoying this experience but have to say, our driver and guide, Alex, absolutely made this enjoyable and memorable for us. She shared so much knowledge, interesting facts, and it is clear that she truly loves her job and spinning the heck out of that jet boat. An awesome human who is an asset to this business. Definitely deserves a pay rise!
