Poland was once a home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world and a center of this thriving civilization was Kraków. Its historical Jewish district is a jewel of Jewish art and architecture. A place where 7 ancient synagogues, that amazingly survived the destruction of World War II and the Holocaust, stand witness to the test of time.
During our tour we will discover the historical context of the local Jewish community, talk about the death and destruction of World War II but also witness the amazing Jewish culture’s revival in contemporary Kraków.

I would like to begin by thanking Tomasz for his time and for the incredible tour he gave us through the Jewish district. He conveyed such a complex subject in a remarkably clear and accessible way, while still encouraging deep reflection on many aspects. I would also like to highlight his charisma, as well as his excellent command of English, complemented by a truly wonderful accent. Without a doubt, it was the best tour I have ever attended, and I feel truly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it.

We took the Jewish Quarter and Ghetto tour this morning, hosted by Big Tom. Very informative, each location had it's own specific interest which expertly threaded into the historic growth and development of the quarter. Easy paced and Big Tom had his own "additions" in his bag to bring a closer perspective of the social era and unique history. It was amazing to see the ghetto now, but Big Tom expertly defined its original boarders so it was crystal clear as we walked around. For a pay what you think the tour was worth, was a no risk strategy as Big Tom provided expert knowledge and value, friendliness and fun. Happy to pay for both the tour and such an expert guide including personal stories of children who survived, especially who became world famous. A must do!!!!

Absolutely recommended this 2.5-hour walk with our guide Thomasz. Passionate about the history of this part of Krakow and the history of WWII. He told with verve, also made the story personal through images. And he had humor. Had a great afternoon flying by.

One of my best historic tours I've ever had. Our guide Thomasz (BIG TOM), the tour was in (excellent) English, did not only take me emotionally. Thomasz knew how to draw a huge bow through the centuries. In addition to his convincing emotionality about this subject, his uncanny breadth of knowledge, he has also managed to integrate his own history into his narratives, and indeed to combine them with the sometimes delicate subject. In a very empathetic and convincing way we were boundlessly enthusiastic. BIG TOM - thanks a lot, thank You for being part of your life - a great experience 😎👌💪☝️

I had the tour with Kris. He gave us the key facts and stories about the Jewish Quarter. Time flew by, which also speaks volumes for the guide. It was very entertaining. So, I highly recommend it. Or, as Kris put it: it could be worse.

The tour could not have been better. Our guide had extensive knowledge of the Jewish presence in Krakow and the persecution of Jews during the Nazi regime. Attentive, answered all questions with delicacy. Time passed fast.

Anis gave a most informative and interesting review of some very serious and sobering topics. She did it with compassion and a zeal regarding the Jewish people and what they experienced. It gave us a whole new perspective for the people. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning the history of the area.
