Poland was once a home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world and a center of this thriving civilization was Kraków. Its historical Jewish district is a jewel of Jewish art and architecture. A place where 7 ancient synagogues, that amazingly survived the destruction of World War II and the Holocaust, stand witness to the test of time.
During our tour we will discover the historical context of the local Jewish community, talk about the death and destruction of World War II but also witness the amazing Jewish culture’s revival in contemporary Kraków.

I forget our guides name but he was excellent. His knowledge about Jewish and European history was amazing and obviously very relevant. We really liked how he did not focus on just the few years around WW2 but the hundreds of years leading up to it and the decades after. I'd highly recommend!

This tour of Kraków’s Jewish quarter was exceptional. Tom was a brilliant guide - informative and friendly - who managed to fit so much into 2.5 hours. Highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience and Ania was an incredible guide. Both knowledgeable and compassionate she painted a picture of the tragedy of Kraków’s Jewish population at that time. It was a tour I think everyone should take!

We took the tour to the Jewish and Ghetto neighborhood with Matthew. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot from him. Matthew is very generous in sharing his knowledge and has a very good way of telling history. We fully recommend it. Ale and Mili (Argentina)

A must do tour! We had “Big Tom” and despite the rain and cold, he preserved like it was no bother ! Very engaging and informative. Tom really knows his history and was highly intelligent. I think doing the Jewish Quarter and the ghetto on your own would be underwhelming and you would miss so much. Tom showed us so much, lots of synagogues and key places, embellishing them with true stories. Whilst the tone of this tour is obviously devastating, what Tom highlighted was also the stories of love and hope in humanity that can come from atrocious pain. If we had more time we would book again with him on another tour. We paid on the Viator app but what we didn’t realise is you can book direct with the company and then volunteer a contribution. Even though we had pre paid, we gave a tip at the end as he was truly deserving. If you are reading this and you have time, before visiting Krakow , you must watch the Schindler’s List film if you are unfamiliar (shocking but I think some people haven’t). Thank you Tom, really loved the tour!

The most incredible and powerful tour I’ve done and it was made by Tomasz. His knowledge of history and more importantly, his passion to bring it to life, meant that a 2hrs 40mins tour went by too quickly. Powerful, informative, with laughs and tears… simply amazing
