This wildlife viewing excursion takes you on a journey to see two of the major highlights in Southeast Alaska. You will be guided to the Mendenhall Glacier for a 45 minute self-exploration followed by our wildlife whale watching tour. Once you have had a chance to explore the glacier park on your own, we will take you to the whale watching harbor where you will come aboard one of our state-of-the-art vessels to search for majestic Humpback Whales and other water wildlife we may find along the way. Our expert captains and naturalists are so familiar with these amazing creatures that we can actually guarantee you will see whales in their natural habitat from a safe distance. Our boats are equipped with restrooms and heated cabins to make this journey extra comfortable. Our fleet of fast jet boats all have plenty of outdoor deck space so you can choose to watch the wildlife in the open air or from the comfort of the cabin. This is an Alaskan adventure you won't want to miss!

5.00Nate & Claire were knowledgeable. James was an excellent Captain and driver. The excursion was unforgettable! Dylan was so funny and safely got us to the Mendenhall Glacier, as well as the Whale-Watching port.

5.00Entire trip was great. Crew (Capt. Delton, Griffin and Ash) is very knowledgeable. The boat is able to handle a group of around 50 people comfortably. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see whales.

5.00We had an amazing whale watching experience! Captain James and Naturalist Ash did a fantastic job throughout the tour. Captain James made the ride smooth and got us to great whale viewing spots, while Ash was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many interesting facts about the whales and wildlife. Their enthusiasm and professionalism made the trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Alaska!

5.00We had a magical trip!! We were hoping to see some Humpback whale and we sure did!! As a great bonus we saw Orcs right up next to the boat!! Best whale watching trip ever!! Michelle, Sophie and Monica did an excellent job!!

5.00We had an amazing time. The water fall at the glacier was beautiful. Whale watching with Michelle, Sophie and Monica was so fun. We got to see a pod of orcas right next to the boat. A beautiful rare event.

5.00Bought this tour from the kiosk on the cruise ship dock and was not disappointed. Had about a 25 min drive to Mendenhall Glacier, and then an hour of free time to see the visitor center, hike, and take photos. We headed about 10 mins away to the wharf where we boarded the boat for Whale Watching. Michelle, Ashley, and Monica were fantastic guides and scouts. We saw eagles, Humpback whales, and sea lions. 20ish mins back to the cruise ship made for an easy commute. Great trip!

5.00The tour was incredible. From the organization at the dock, to the bus transfer, the trail to the falls and the whale watching. All incredible. Our bus driver, Aiden, tried everything he got on the humour side, and made us laugh out loud several times. Made all the transport quite amenable and pleasant. The trail to the Nugget falls was quite pleasant and breathtaking due to the views. Finally, the whale watching tour was incredible. Out captain and crew, Krichelle, Griffin and Ashley were absolutely brilliant and we learnt a lot and got contagied by their excitement. We also got lucky and saw 3 different whales. Magnificent. A fantastic tour that I recommend everyone.

5.00Alaska Tales Whale Watching was fantastic. We didn’t have an expectation that we would see many whales because we are the first Alaska cruise of the season… so imagine our surprise when we saw 5-6 humpbacks! It was truly a highlight of our trip. Aiden our bus driver started our trip off with fun facts and lots of bad jokes… he’s so personable - it set a great tone for the trip. Krichelle & Griffin were AMAZING on this whale of a boat ride adventure! Krichelle drove the boat and our naturalist was Griffin… both had the best personalities. We took my 89 year old mother in a wheelchair. The entire crew from start to finish was not only accommodating but they went out of their way to make sure my Mom was taken care of and got to see the whales. They went above and beyond. Our family highly recommends this company, the staff and the experience!!!
