After having a busy time in Japan, I wanted a more relaxing and fun activity to do and this was perfect. There were only 2 of us and Yuki and her colleague (sorry I cannot remember her name) were amazing. We not only undertook our activity but time was taken to explain the cultural and historical aspects of Kimonos and Obis. They were on hand to help always and both me and the other person needed a lot of help! The small touches were also very appreciated - you were given a personalised paper which explained what your chosen fabric showed and gave a historical background. It also explained any symbolism which I thought was a nice touch. They also have a wall set up for you to hang your canvas and for you to take pictures. I recommend this activity

We had a great time in this workshop! The instructors were very knowledgeable about both the history of kimonos and the various ways they are still worn today, and we had a great time picking out our fabrics and making our art panels. It was wonderful getting to repurpose textiles that were no longer serving their original purpose.

The instructor Yuki san was very friendly and helpful. The class is full of interesting facts about Kimonos and the meanings behind their designs. Creating the art was surprisingly intuitive and satisfying. Now I have a lovely souvenir from Japan that will make for a great gift for my Mother. Overall, I had a great time at Kimono Art Workshop, I can highly recommend it!

The kimono art is so beautiful! A great piece for decorating the wall or presents for family or friends. The instructor Yuki was able to speak English and teach us everything we needed to know. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in Japanese culture and modern art or DIY!

We had the best time choosing from lovely kimono and obi fabric and creating the wall art. We learned about the history of kimono in Japan, which was really interesting. I really enjoyed the process of making the wall art, which wasn't too difficult as the staff were so helpful. I also appreciated learning about the specific fabric that I chose and the meaning behind the design. Really a perfect souvenir that is unique to Japan!
