After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis.
Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings.
After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots.
As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

5.00My wife and I visited Kiruna for our Honeymoon and knew we wanted to see the northern lights. We booked a tour through Lights of Viking and it was an awesome experience! They picked us up near our hotel and we drove around for about 30 minutes until we saw the lights. We took many pictures on a frozen lake and they started a campfire in a nearby cabin for us to warm up in. They did provide a winter suit which helped quite a bit, but it was still very chilly (note: it was -20 degrees out!!!) so wear plenty of layers. We were out and about for ~4 hours total, and we got so many great pictures thanks to our guide, Iris (we received the photos the following evening). We would definitely recommend booking a tour with Lights of Viking! Such a bucket list event

5.00The experience was incredible, we were not expecting to see them so soon that day, even we were not very positive because the last days were not good to see northern lights but at the end… boom! Spectacular and breathtaking experience. This was maybe the best moment of our trip to Kiruna, our guide was the funniest and helpful person. Thanks Onur!
Extraordinary lifetime experience

5.00Was so nervous about the cold, traveling so far and not finding them. But the tour guides were so amazing!! They guided us through every step, explained throughly what would happen. Made us a fire so we kept cold and have us the option of staying outside or inside a warm cabin. We had an extraordinary display of lights, as well as an aurora talk from the guides. Iris, the photographer goes an extra mile to take as many shots as you like!! Greatly appreciated because I was traveling solo, and also too cold to take off my gloves. I think the tour was the best I took in Kiruna! And the team is always making sure everyone is safe and warm. Since we were -30*C outside that evening.

5.00I booked this tour with my parents and uncle and unfortunately we didn't get to see the northern lights, but onur and iris still made it a good experience. Onur was really good at explaining the northern lights and iris made us feel comfortable the whole time. We were sad we didn't get to see them but the guides still kept our spirits up and we waited until the last minute in case the lights showed. It was really important to wear the suits that are provided because it was freezing. Two days later onur called and told us that people had cancelled and offered to join the group spontaneously for free because we didn't see them and then we got to see them this time! It was a really nice offer. I also appreciated that iris let us know what was happening at all times, how long we will be driving, until where and why they get out of the car to discuss with other guides. I also appreciated that all guides didn't make anyone feel bad if you couldn't handle the cold.

5.00What can I say? Just one word: AMAZING! Onur and Iris were simply fantastic, extremely helpful and, despite treating us to a breathtaking aurora just one hour into the tour, they continued to chase it so we could see it two more times that same evening. This is truly an UNFORGETTABLE memory! Thank you, thank you... thank you!!

They gave us lots of information about the Aurora, took all the photos we wanted and, even though we had already seen a fantastic Northern Lights, they took us to other places to see more spectacular shows! Highly recommended!

5.00Perfect service, small group and dedicated guide Mercè, taking care of us in a freezing night (-30°C). We stopped in a nice place on the way to Abisko, made some fire and share juice and cookies. She provided with overall suites so you can bear with the cold somehow. We were very lucky, forecast was not very good, but when aurora showed up she took tones of pictures for us. A night to remember!! Thanks
