After we pick you up from your hotel in Kiruna, we will start to chase the northern lights that depends on each night according to the weather conditions. We can drive to Abisko, Kiruna’s boreal forest or wherever we can find clear sky to see Aurora Borealis.
Lights of Vikings have a really high success rate in finding clear sky which is one of the most important criteria to see the Northern Lights. Our concept is famous for driving long distances if necessary! Wherever we go during the tour, we will tell you many stories about the northern lights and Vikings.
After finding clear sky, we’ll admire the northern lights and we will take pictures which we’ll send to you within 3 days after the tour. If you bring your own camera, we will help you set it up to get the best shots.
As the northern lights dance in the sky we will serve hot drinks and make a camp fire for you to keep warm. After the northern lights tour, we will drive you back to Kiruna.

5.00Our guides Robin and Laia were super experienced and friendly. They were giving their very best in order for us to see the northern lights - with success! It was astonishing and the pictures were incredible. We didn't have to drive long since they immediately found a good spot to see them. They set up a little campfire and we shared some tea, cookies and chocolate while Robin was telling us all about the wildlife around us and how the aurora borealis works. Everyone got some pictures from the professional photographer Laia. 10/10 recommended. Seeing the northern lights in the end depends on the will of the nature, you'll have to know that. Still, the guides will give their all to find a clear sky. If we would not have found a perfect spot right away, they were willing to take us all the way to Norway or Finland. Best chances to catch the aurora with this tour!

5.00It is a truly magical experience to see the auroras live, something I recommend to everyone who has the opportunity to do so. The guides were extremely friendly and constantly looked after the customers, providing fire, coats, and hot drinks because it is very cold. Thanks to the whole team for everything. I hope to repeat the experience someday.

5.00Bernard and Robin were wonderful guides, they ensured the tour ran smoothly and that we all had a great time. They were extremely attentive to make sure we saw the lights whenever they were visible and planning how best to chase them, we had a super lucky night, and they gave us information about them too. They were very friendly taking the time to speak to all of us and took multiple spectacular pictures of everyone with the lights and of the aurora itself. The pictures were sent to us promptly a couple days after and they were stunning, I am so happy with these perfect memories. I was picked up and dropped off at my central Kiruna hotel right on time, and they also provided us with delicious biscuits, chocolate and tea in the cabin with a fire to keep us warm. I would highly recommend this as your northern lights tour in Kiruna, it is incredibly good value for money for this top tier experience.

5.00Would definitly recommend this day tour to Abisko to anyone visiting Kiruna. The day was absolute magic and our guide Merce was the kindest!! At the end we also received amazing photos to remember the day. 11/10!

5.00Amazing time with Lights of Vikings. Short trip out to the frozen river where they had a small cabin set up with a fire and some small treats for us. We ended up seeing the lights for quite some time before the clouds set in. Bucket list checked!

5.00I booked two experiences with Lights of Vikings and everything was absolutely amazing. The first was an outing to observe the Northern Lights, and thanks to them... we had the chance to see them 😍 Admittedly, we need a little luck, but especially be accompanied by experienced people who know perfectly what they are doing and this is clearly their case. In addition to this magical moment, we had great photos as souvenirs, really beautiful! The next day we took a snowmobile trip, and again it was exceptional: top organization, incredible sensations and a memorable experience from start to finish. A huge thank you to the whole team for their professionalism, kindness and unforgettable memories. I recommend closed eyes

5.00If you’re heading to Kiruna and want to see the northern lights, just book with Lights of Vikings. Seriously — this tour was amazing from start to finish. They made everything super comfortable, which is not easy in Arctic winter! We got thermal coveralls to keep warm, there were snacks to munch on during the evening, and the guides even built a fire so we could warm up while waiting for the auroras. Such a cozy vibe. Our guides — Mercè, Robin, and Bernat — were awesome. They shared loads of interesting facts about the northern lights, Arctic animals, and what everyday life is like in Kiruna. It felt more like chatting with friends who know a ton about the Arctic than being on a formal tour. The driving between spots was smooth and relaxed, and they clearly knew exactly where to go. One of the locations was a frozen river with zero light pollution — it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere in the best possible way. And then the auroras showed up… just unreal. Green lights moving across the sky, shifting and glowing — it didn’t even look real. The guides took professional photos of us with the auroras, and they sent them the next day. Such an amazing souvenir from an unforgettable night. This tour had everything: great people, cool knowledge, beautiful scenery, and a truly magical sky. We’d give it 10 stars if we could!
