He built it to have panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and lined the floor with beautiful mosaic tiles, many of which are still intact today. At 720 feet in diameter, this huge amphitheater is pretty hard to miss! People used to flock here to see performances and take in the views of the sea and surrounding landscape. 5.00A very large site with lots to see. Some of it was closed today as the roof protecting it was being repaired. However we still saw lots including the amphitheatre which faces out to sea.
