At the beginning of the tour you will have a possibility to shop for fresh vegetables and produce at the buzzing market. Later, the guide will take you to her/his private home and help you to become a pierogi-making machine. You will learn from your local host how to make authentic Polish food and you will try out your Polish language skills while experiencing an authentic Polish family home and meal-time traditions and conversations.

How you will help the local community by joining this tour: - At the beginning of your tour, you will visit a local farmers’ market which is located off the beaten path, where you will have a chance to learn some Polish as you shop, which provides a great opportunity to interact with local vendors and respect their language and traditions. - Your tour also supports local vendors who wouldn’t have access to tourists without Krakow Urban Tours. - In addition, your tour promotes regional products

We are going to show you how to make pierogi like a pro. At the beginning, you’ll go shopping at the bustling market, and you will get from your guide all the insider info on the fresh vegetables and produce for sale along the way. Your guide will even be able to teach you some expressions in Polish if you wish so that you can barter at the market like a true Krakow native! Next on this Krakow tour, you’ll be taken to a family home, where you’ll be able to put all that delicious fresh produce to use and get some cooking lessons from Krakow locals. You’ll be taught how to make a pierogi, a typical Polish dish (kind of like a dumpling). Whilst you’re cooking you’ll have the chance to ask all the questions about Poland you have always had. Finally, you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour and tuck into all the Krakow food you’ve been making. As you’ll be eating with a Polish family, this will also be your chance to ask all those questions you have about Polish culture, and your hosts will be very happy to teach you all about their country. Eat, drink, and be merry – Krakow style!

We did the pierogi experience with Alicja and it was fantastic! She took time taking us around the market and getting new foods for us to try. The polish snack board and drinks made the experience even better! Also, the pierogis were amazing, some of the best we had throughout our time in Krakow! I would definitely recommend pierogi making with Alicja

The pierogi making class was fun, relaxed, and really personal. Kasia made everyone feel comfortable right away and guided us through each step with ease. And the best part—the pierogi were delicious! It felt more like cooking with a friend than taking a class. Definitely recommend!

We had a great afternoon with Alicja! She patiently escorted us through the market, taught us how to order the ingredients for her family pierogi recipe from the market vendors. Alicja welcomed us into her beautiful home and we had a great time “attempting” to make her pierogies. I am sure they were not as good has her grandmas but they were delicious. We would Highly recommend Alicja and the pierogi making experience to anyone lucky enough to visit Krakow.

Our visit to the market and pierogi-making class with Alicja was absolutely wonderful. My group loved the entire experience and would highly recommend it to others—we had so much fun and even learned a new skill! Getting to play with her dog was an unexpected bonus and definitely a highlight.

We had an excellent experience with Agata. Shopping at the market was great fun and fascinating as was driving out of the centre to where people actually live. The class itself was instructive snd enjoyable and my only regret is that I couldn’t manage all the delicious lunch. I highly recommend this your and Agata as a teacher.

What a great experience. Fun to shop at the market for all the ingredients and then go to the Alicja’s home to make pierogi. She was friendly, knowledgeable and so welcoming. Highly recommend.
