Kumamoto Castle

Kumamoto Castle is one of Japan’s most celebrated fortresses, originally constructed in the early 1600s by the feudal lord Kato Kiyomasa. Known as one of the “Three Great Castles of Japan,” it is admired for its massive stone walls, ingenious defensive design, and the elegant black-and-white contrast of its keep.
