In this tour, a guide will accompany you and provide explanations in English as you walk through the highlights from outside to inside of Kumamoto Castle. The tour includes the admission ticket to Kumamoto Castle. Inside the castle, the guide will lead you through the special viewing path, explaining the interior as you make your way up to the top floor together. Finally, the guide will guide you to Johsaien.

We had an absolutely excellent tour guide in Moe. She was knowledgable about the area and you could tell her excitement and enthusiasm about the Kumamoto Castle and the city itself. She would explain things to us sometimes even before the museum would, and spoke incredibly good English. She was super personable, and a pleasure to talk to. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city!

“Tommy” was a great guide. She communicated with us before the tour, her English was excellent, and she was very knowledgeable about both the Castle, and Kumamoto generally. We had a lovely time.

Viewing of the extensive damage to Kumamoto Castle and the resilience of the Japanese people to reconstruct the castle after the earthquake. Our guide Tommy, was excellent in recounting the earthquake damage as she lives in the immediate vicinity
