  This was one of my favorite experiences from my trip and a memory I’ll keep with me for a lifetime! Our instructor taught us about the significance of Japanese tea ceremonies and even allowed us the opportunity to make tea on our own. The ceremony only allows 4 people at a time so there’s much opportunity to engage with others and really learn. If you are going to Kyoto, you should def try this!

  This was one of my favorite activities in Kyoto! They dressed you up in a traditional kimono, with every single component and step to it. And then we talked about the history of tea and tea ceremony, understanding the meaning behind their traditions and culture. I learned so much about Japanese traditional ways of doing things and had some hand picked matcha tea as well. Cannot recommend this activity enough. Must have!

  I don't even know where to begin, it was an incredible experience. It was one of the few tea houses that would accept us with my 3-year-old son. The lady was very kind, patience , and attentive. She explained their culture to us in detail and taught us how to make matcha. Before that, we rented kimonos and walked to nearby Temple , taking lots of photos. I definitely recommend it. We were very, very pleased.

  The tea ceremony was perfect! Okada was really attentive and thoughtful. He took some photos of us in our kimonos! We delved deeper into the tea ceremony's history and customs. We would recommend the experience at 100%. Thank you so much, Okada, for this unforgettable experience!

  A lovely experience in the heart of Kyoto’s Higashiyama ward. Very easy access, both by public transport or walking. Note; often faster to walk than taking a bus! Beautifully tranquil, a lovely learning experience in traditional kimono in a beautifully deigned room. Highly recommended for a genuine, unique, welcoming experience. Ichigo iche.

  This entire activity was an absolute favorite of mine! They helped us pick out & style our original, hand made Japanese kimonos (which I heard are some of the only authentic kimonos in Kyoto as some of the others have imported kimonos from china). They styled our hair which included little decorations/ornaments. After they of course helped us put on our kimonos (which was also a seamless/ smooth process), we went right next door into the cutest Japanese ceremonial store to have our tea. The aesthetic, quality of tea/snacks, & the intention to detail was 10/10. Okada was such a gem & took time to get to know his guest. Nothing was rushed & from start to finish it took about 2 hours 15 mins! And okada took professional photos of us! the entire time including when we returned our kimonos; everyone was helpful & kind! 10/10 would recommend this cute activity! Side note: my friend & I had our luggage due to arriving in Kyoto early/before check in time. they were so friendly & accommodating & ensured our belongings were safe!

  From the moment we arrived, the team made it feel personal. They helped us choose kimono's that spoke to our souls, dressed with care by the attendants, then sent us strolling through old cobbled Kyoto streets for far too many Instagram-worthy photos. Back inside, our ceremony Host, also the owner was THE HIGHLIGHT. His passion for culture, craft, and teaching how a TRUE tea ceremony is prepared and served is contagious. Afterward, he sat with us over a drink and chatted like an old friend. What we loved most? No conveyor-belt vibe. Small groups (2–4 people), unhurried pace, and space to ask questions. You feel seen, not processed. A once-in-a-lifetime experience I’ll be talking about for years.
