Kyrenia Castle

When we drive to the the city centre we'll walk to our second stop of the day. This is 'Kyrenia Castle'.The Castle was made by the Byzantine and many additions were made by Lusignans, Venetians, Ottomans and English. There is a shipwreck museum inside the castle which the amphoras, almonds ,seeds and the shipwreck is exhebited. The shipwreck dates back to 300BC

Kyrenia Harbour

It was built as a harbor during the Venetian period. A chain tower is dating the same period. The harbor was built as 'U'shaped. The Customs office was built during the Colonial time. Nowadays the harbor is used as a marina for the daily boat tours. Also there are many cafes that one can enjoy to drink alchohol or soft drink

We had a wonderful day visiting Bellapais Abbey and the city of Kyrenia, with its narrow streets, the picturesque harbor, and its historic castle. Sirin was an exceptional guide: knowledgeable, kind, very helpful, and empathetic. She made this day memorable for the wonders she showed us and the warmth of her personal connection.

Kyrenia castle in the old marina is a must to see. The shipwreck museum in the castle dates back to 300 BC - the oldest in the world. Bellapais Monastery was our second stop of the day. Located on the Kyrenia Mountain. Typical gothic style architecture. I did this tour with Sirin. She was flexible with the start time and I enjoyed the local coffee when we enjoyed outside the monastery. If you are looking for a half day tour I highly recommend this one.

Kyrenia was simply beautiful, and what made it even more special was how naturally Şirin shared her love for the place. She has this wonderful way of weaving stories into every stop, without ever overwhelming you. It felt like walking through the past with someone who not only knows the history, but genuinely enjoys sharing it. The atmosphere at the harbor, the view from Bellapais Abbey, the castle. Everything was elevated by her presence and attention to detail.

Anyone visiting Cyprus is bound to tour Girne Castle and the Bellapais Monastery. We were very pleased with this trip. Recommended for everyone.

Our friendly guide, Sirin Suha, has made our soundtrack memorable. Girne Harbour, Girne Castle, Bellapais Monastery are must-dos. If you’re not going yet, I recommend a bite.

I took the private tour to Kyrenia and had such a great time I took another private tour with Sirin to Farmagusta and Larnaca. Sirin is an excellent tour guide. She is personable, knowledgeable about history, and great at keeping time. I never felt rushed, was able to see more than I expected and was on time for my meeting/ flight as promised. Even when I visited places I had already seen before, Sirin provided extra information that made me see the places in a new light. Taking a private tour is the best way to get around Cyprus given the availability of public transport and information on tours. Sirin knew all the ins and outs of places so the experience was without any issues. Her advice was always spot on where she knew the best places to visit. I had a great time and I would highly, highly, highly recommend the tours with Sirin to any part of Cyprus.

Had a wonderful day with Sirin. Highly recommend the tour as it is full of many historical sites. Especially Kyrenia Castle with the Ship Wreck Museum was my favorite place. Enjoyed the local sweets and the coffee at one of the local coffee shops we had facing the beautiful Bellapais Monastery. Highly recommend this tour with Sirin.
