We will take you allong rivers, over high hanging bridges, jungle staircases, mountain trails, the magnificent la Fortuna waterfall, butterfly garden, Maleku Indian village, giant tree forest, el lago verde, lava rock fields, the highest scenic Arenal viewpoint, Wildlife watching and to end visit a Hot spring resort with natural mineral hotwater. La Fortuna Waterfall
Be amazed by the lush vegetation on its 70mtr high walls, the huge Vulcanic rocks at its foot, and the amount of water splashing down in its massive pool. We take time to bask in its beauty and the brave ones can go out and take a super refreshing dip.
Arenal Volcano
Following a trail that is cut out through the rocks we climb our way up the slopes of the Arenal. Reaching the highest Viewpoint that exist around the Volcano we can absorb the most spectacular panoramic views. Looking around it just gets better, Lake Arenal, Jungle, the Valley, Lava fields and most of all the Arenal that towering over you

5.00Great excursion! Made even better with the guides. Carlos in particular was great. He was upbeat, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about his job. All the guides were friendly and most importantly seemed like they had as much fun as us. At no point did we feel rushed, even though we did many activities. The activities were themselves were great.

5.00I had a great time on my trip led by Will and Chris. Swimming near the Fortuna waterfall will be a top tier experience in my book forever! It was also so cool to learn about the native peoples of Costa Rica. We also got to see a lot of animals, including sloths, toucans, hummingbirds, iguanas, and lots of other birds! *THIS TOUR INVOLVES HIKING*

5.00My mom (61 yo) and I (29 yo) did this tour the day after landing in Costa Rica. It was the perfect way to start off the trip. Communication with Red Lava Tours was great, our guides Juan Carlos and Diego were super knowledgeable and easy going, the tour itself was action packed ( La fortuna waterfall was our favorite part of the whole trip), the lunch Casado was the best we had of the trip, and the hot springs at the end were the perfect way to top off the tour. Highly highly recommend doing this. Great value for the money.
Well worth your time in La Fortuna! Steep stairs, but worth the work

5.00Amazing tour guides with cultural and ecological knowledge of the area. Day went as such 1. Steep hike with 500 stairs to gorgeous waterfall 2. Cultural visit of native Costa Ricans 3. Lunch 4. Semi-steep hike through lava rock fields, overgrown with gorgeous greenery and biodiversity. 5. Drinks at the hot springs. I recommend driving yourself to the hot springs beforehand, as they recommend, so you can stay until 9pm, not just the allotted hour. William was an amazing guide, friendly and knowledgeable

4.00Loved the activities. Carlos and axle (our tour guides) were awesome. The Viator tour description stated that the group size would not exceed 12 people. Our group was 24. The bus was over crowded and we had a lot of wasted time having to wait for everyone to be done and ready to move to the next activity. Based on that, I would not recommend as the tour was not executed as advertised

5.00We had a great time with our guides! Chris and Mannuel. They were very knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and the history of Costa Rica. They were very punctual with pick up and drop off. Be mindful, you will have to carry most of your items throughout the day. We started our day by taking a tractor up to the waterfall hike. Be sure you are dressed for your water activity, It will be the first thing you do so just come dressed and ready. They recommended water shoes, although most of us didn’t have any. Water shoes are to help during the swim/climb through the waterfall, although many people slipped even with the water shoes. Follow instructions and walk carefully through the rocky areas. You will need hiking shoes for the first part of the tour and water shoes for the second part. If you do not want to partake in the swimming to the waterfall, there is an option to hike around to see it from the side. After we completed our waterfall adventure, we returned to the main area where we had a delicious lunch. The options were fish or beef with sides of a salad and rice. We had some extra time so they took us to a small garden area with a butterfly greenhouse, The next part was the hike up the volcano, which was a brisk up hill hike. Wear comfortable shoes! We learned a lot about volcanic history. The last part was the Hot Springs, which we personally did not enjoy. It was quite crowded and ended up skipping it all together. Our expectations were quite high as the day before we went to the Baldi‘s Hot Springs, which were phenomenal, highly recommend. LOVED the tour and would recommend.

5.00Yesterday’s Costa Rican tour was unforgettable — from the volcano and rainforest waterfalls to ending the day soaking in hot springs. The rain only added to the magic, never dampening our spirits, and our guide’s Chris and Enrique friendly expertise made the small, enthusiastic group feel like traveling with friends.
Best tour in La Fortuna! Just do it!

5.00If you have to choose one tour, this would be the one. We saw and did more in a day than I expected. Our guide team Carlos, Axel and Piola were knowledgeable, friendly and fun.

5.00My fiancé and I had so much fun on this adventure! We are older, so a little slower but everyone was patient and kind! Our guides Carlos and Axel were top notch! The two have a passion for people and nature plus they spoke English clearly! Carlos carried my cell phone as we swam in the water near the waterfall. And he even took pics of us! Axel recommended a great Italian restaurant in town which we loved! Hopefully you are lucky enough to get these guides!
