Arenal 1968 Volcano View & Trails
The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the 1968 Arenal Volcano Park, where you will start your activity, a 2.30 hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1968 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.
La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna Waterfall is an amazing natural spot, about 70-75 meters tall. To get to the bottom, you'll need to go down and then climb back up around 500 steps, but it’s totally worth it. There are safe spots where you can swim and enjoy the fresh water. This is the perfect mix of adventure and tropical beauty in Costa Rica.

5.00If you want to do it *all* in one day, do this. Our tour guide Pablo was wonderful, informative and helpful. We saw vipers, sloths, iguanas and more! Key callout - there’s indeed a good amount of hiking involved and remember it is 500 steps down to La Fortuna Waterfall!
Excellent full active day worth doing!

5.00This was a very full day, and included the lunch that was offered to the group at a local soda. Our guide was really kind and was able to point out two different vipers as well as howler monkeys and a lot of other cool creatures. We all loved that, and I particularly loved the hanging bridges. Going down into the la Fortuna waterfall was also amazing. Be prepared for wobbly legs from all of the steps to get up and down. Hiking at 1968 Arenal volcano was definitely something to see but you don’t actually hike the volcano itself because it’s against the law. You are in the park around it and you see it very close up as well as the lake.

5.00This was a fantastic tour! Everything was very organized and the tour guide was very knowledgable and so personable. The driver got us everywhere safely and kept our belongings safe. Although i traveled solo, i felt part of the group i was with and had an amazing time. For someone who was only in La Fortuna for two days, this was a great way to see multiple things in one day.
Great and must see sights in La fortuna.

5.00It was a really fun and comprehensive way to do all 3 attractions in La fortuna. Will was an excellent guide, so glad we did a guided tour. His knowledge of the plants and area around was great. The walking pace was good, and Will made sure that we were lucky enough to not be in too crowded of a time in the hanging bridges.

5.00Great experience. Wish I had known the following 1) closed toe shoes + waterproof are mandatory as there are some ant bites that last for over 24 hrs. 2) there is a lot of hiking. Have walking sticks! 3) Mt Arenal is mostly covered with clouds. So don’t expect a clear background photo. The hiking is to the base. 4) Mt Arenal is visible from every where ie don’t sped extra for a hotel with this view Bryan and Coka in ere great tour guides.

4.00It’s an all day adventure and requires hiking boots due to rough terrain and climbing. Not for anyone with breathing or cardio issues.

5.00Pablo was an amazing travel guide with a keen eye for spotting animals and snakes. We saw a good deal and the variety was excellent. A tasty lunch break too. Not too much driving time.

5.00Pick up was on time! Guide Chinos was very knowledgeable and a really great photographer. He helped us capture very nice shots of the birds and snakes and iguana. Volcano hike was slightly strenuous but all in all, learnt a lot about La Fortuna!
