What To Expect
Arenal 1968 Volcano View & Trails
The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the 1968 Arenal Volcano Park, where you will start your activity, a 2.30 hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1968 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.
La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna Waterfall is an amazing natural spot, about 70-75 meters tall. To get to the bottom, you'll need to go down and then climb back up around 500 steps, but it’s totally worth it. There are safe spots where you can swim and enjoy the fresh water. This is the perfect mix of adventure and tropical beauty in Costa Rica.

5.00Valeria and Jorge were amazing! First of all, Valeria takes her time to tell you everything about the history of the volcanic activities in the area. She's also very knowledgeable with the many different species of local animals, insect, reptiles, and vegetations. Jorge's driving was superb, super smooth ride. The hiking around the volcano, the waterfall, and the hanging bridges hike were amazing, we saw so many interesting creatures and plants it was eye opening!!

5.00Jose (Chino) was an excellent guide and so knowledgeable about everything we were seeing. He clearly has a passion for his job and he was so good at finding things to show us everywhere we turned. It was also awesome that he took pictures for us and shared them at the end of the trip (no charge). He and the driver Jovanni did great tailoring the trip to the weather conditions to maximize the experience. The hanging bridges were great and we were able to see some wildlife along the way. The volcano hike was a little underwhelming but it was interesting to learn about the eruption in '68, etc. The waterfall was very pretty, but the hike up and down is no joke. Would be pretty tough for someone who was not fit. Lunch was excellent, we all loved it! It was also nice that they had water along the way so we didn't have to lug it around. Overall, a great day and way to see some sites in the LaFortuna area.

5.00Very active, full interesting day! Our tour guide Will was great. He was very knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious as well. Lots of walking/hiking is involved. And for the waterfall, it is 500 steps down and up. Just be prepared!
