Arenal 1968 Volcano View & Trails
The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the 1968 Arenal Volcano Park, where you will start your activity, a 2.30 hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1968 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.
La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna Waterfall is an amazing natural spot, about 70-75 meters tall. To get to the bottom, you'll need to go down and then climb back up around 500 steps, but it’s totally worth it. There are safe spots where you can swim and enjoy the fresh water. This is the perfect mix of adventure and tropical beauty in Costa Rica.

5.00We loved this full-day experience to the volcano, waterfall and hanging bridges! Our tour guide, Catalina, was superb! She was so great at spotting wildlife that I would have never seen on my own.

5.00We did exactly what it says on the itinerary. Pablo was our tour guide and he did a great job. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic during our trip today. We saw many animals. beware this day is definitely a physical day. Going to the volcano has some inclines as did the hanging bridges. Not including the 500 stairs down and up from the waterfall. You need to be in somewhat physical shape to do all these things in one day. Overall, we had a great time. It was just my husband and I, they pick us up on time. We had a great lunch couldn’t be happier. Definitely recommended.

5.00Don’t let the ‘hikes’ sway your decision to do this tour, they were more like nature walks-slow pace and lots of stops to look at birds, snakes and we even saw an anteater! Our guide was fantastic and provided us with lots of commentary. Lunch that was included was very good as well. The waterfall was beautiful! A bit of a hike (approximately 500 steps) to walk down to it, which was totally optional, and you can go in the water to cool off-then of course you had to walk back up. All in all it was a fantastic day and I’d highly recommend!

5.00Our guide (José/Chino) was very knowledgeable and set a good pace for the group. We were well taken care of (driver Ronald) and had a fabulous time. The volcano was stunning. 🤩 saw tons of animals and wild life. 🐒🌴

5.00Outstanding guide-Catalina Alvarez! She was so informative and so fun to be around! Our driver (sorry don't remember his name was also very good.) This was a very active tour-I would recommend you be in good physical condition to do it. We saw many animals including monkeys and sloths and snakes, and Catalina explained many things about nature that we had never heard. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful-500 steps down and 500 steps up, but completely worth it! Highly recommend!!

5.00We had the absolute best time on this tour. It is so worth the price you pay for all the things you do!! We started off by getting picked up at our hotel and then proceeded to pick up other travelers on the way to the volcano hike. This hike was moderately difficult but the views are gorgeous! Our guide, Katarina, had SO much knowledge on the surrounding fauna and was very personable and friendly. After the hike - we drove to the waterfall. The water is a bit chilly but it was fun to swim in! The 500 step walk back up is no joke though - especially in the heat. We then drove to our lunch spot. The food was spectacular and the fruit juice with it was so refreshing. We then drove to the hanging bridges - the wildlife and scenery was breathtaking!!! Katarina brought a telescope and she pointed out and took beautiful photos of so much wildlife - snakes, toucans, lizards, etc. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough if you are up for the long day!
Our guide was encyldopedic and so personal! What a day!

5.00Our guide was Jose, who went by Chino. If you can get Chino as your guide you WILL NOT REGRET IT. He knows the C.R. outdoors like noone we encountered in our 10 day stay, and he does a serious howler monkey impression to boot! Phenomenal guide. My wife and I loved the tour, start to finish. Our three kids, 17, 19 and 21 also enjoyed it but they were a little worn out by the end! Haha! Wife and I could have kept going. Hanging bridges? Chino got us out early and kept us in front of the crowds, while managing to spot every kind of wildlife possible. Amazing! Great lunch included after the waterfall, and then an amazingly informative hike at the Arenal volcano. We did assume we'd get a lot closer to the volcano, but alas, it is more of a loop trail hike near the base. We were not disappointed as Chino continued to point out and show us some of the most amazing ecology in C.R. Loved our guide and our trip. And got A LOT of steps in!

5.00Such a well organized tour! Our guide, Wilber, was friendly, knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. He’s also very considerate and kind, one of the people in the group has hearing impairment, he made sure she can hear all the information. The tour did involve quite a bit of walking/hiking, but at a leisure pace and not particularly strenuous. Wilber spotted many wild animals while we were walking through the hanging bridges. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful, the water was colder than what we expected, but very fun to try swimming. The lunch was also delicious!
