It’s an early tour so we can start our day having a really good breakfast at an iconic restaurant in the highlands of Guatemala, Tecpan, Chimaltenango. We continue our trip to Lake Atitlan, where right after arriving, you would have time to take some photos at a beautiful viewpoint.

I really enjoyed this tour. This was a solo tour. My tour guide, Esteban allowed me to choose the activities and places I wanted to go to in San Pedro. I was able to take beautiful pictures with the new giant Mayan jade hand in Solola with breathtaking views of Lake Atitlán. This spot has vibrant murals and different great spots to take pictures or videos. Also took pictures with the sculpture with keys, a Bible and a rooster at the park in front of the Church of St Peter. This is one of the few tours that will take you to San Pedro. I highly recommend this tour!

Starting the trip at 5am was necessary to beat the commuter traffic. The breakfast was included at a restaurant about half way there was great. The tours at a Mayan village was wonderful. The private boat ride was also nice. Lunch wasn’t included but the restaurant overlooking the lake was beautiful. Be prepared for long and curvy car rides but it was all worth it once you get to the lake. Pamella spoke great English, was a good driver, and lovely tour guide. This tour was a highlight of our Guatemala trip.

It was a great trip. The breakfast was wonderful, the boat ride to the two islands was fun and the activities at both islands were great. We loved watching the weaving, honey making and chocolate making demonstrations. We had a wonderful host Pamela that we highly recommend.
