Felipe was just an awesome tour partner. Our family met Felipe at the Madalena ferry terminal to start the tour. We walked into and explored several lava tubes at Hórnitos. Felipe shared a great deal about the history of the formation while progressing. We visited Lagos do Capitão and many other lakes through the day as we moved across Pico. This was so interesting as Felipe discussed the importance of the the lakes to Pico as well as the origins of the lakes. We drove up to Pico da Urze to get a close up view of Pico and the valley around the base. We enjoyed a great lunch at Restaurante Rithinha in Lajes do Pico, and then went up to Topo over Lajes to see the oldest part of Pico, where the island formation began. We visited Cabeço de Misterio where an eruption occurred 500 years ago that created a new part of Pico on the north coastline. This included a drive to a wind turbine farm located adjacent. We visited Lagoa Negra, a beautiful lake surrounded by Japanese Cedar trees. We visited Rosado Lake, a beautiful lake resting well below road level, as well a Lagoa Peixinho surrounded by great landscape. We visited Crateras-Poço, an area of sunken land with the appearance of a crater. We visited many other lakes and volcanic cones along the way. Felipe took great pride in Pico and was a wonderful guide. Highly recommend this trip! You will love it.

Thank you for an amazing tour, Filipe! I fell in love with Pico! The beauty is astonishing and magical! The mountain, hills, lakes, fields, lava rock, cows, horses, food! Everything was amazing! Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate, which is expected! I’m so grateful for what I did get to see on a cloudy and foggy day! Everything was amazing and Filipe is an amazing guide who loves his island and loves giving the best experience! He’s the owner, so his reviews are a direct reflection on him, and it was the best! Thank you Filipe!

We highly recommend Atlantic Brine for all of your Pico your experiences. Felipe was a phenomenal guide around the island, even took us to some special places off the beaten path. He catered the tour to our needs and requests making it a very personalized and private experience. We toured the lakes and volcanoes, had a fantastic lunch at a local cafe, and even experienced a phenomenal private tasting at one of the local award winning Pico wine makers. This was the highlight of our time on Pico!

Incredible trip! Filipe was amazing. So knowledgeable and passionate about Pico. You learned about the history and ecology of the island in a fun and interesting way. Absolutely stunning landscape with so much to learn. Also - Filipe does AMAZING watercolor illustrations of local wildlife. Could not recommend this trip more strongly - please book with Filipe and make sure to ask about those illustrations!

It was more like being shown around the island with a new friend than being on a tour. We so enjoyed spending time with Filipe and getting to see the beautiful island of Pico at the same time. The lunch was delicious as well, and Filipe insisted we try a few extra dishes; it is clear that he loves to enjoy food much as we do. Also, Filipe is quite the amazing artist -- we are framing one of his prints to remind us of our time in Pico!

We are so glad that our first day on Pico was spent in the good hands of Felipe. He took us to many beautiful out of the way spots, while teaching us about the history and geology of the island. Lunch was great. We can not recommend this tour more highly!

Wonderful scenery in off the beaten track locations, hosted passionately by Filipe. We felt lucky to experience Pico with someone who clearly loved the island and wanted to share it with us.
Great tour guide, Filepe, a very good restaurant lunch.

Fillipe our tour guide was great. Had a very good lunch, the lava cave was very interesting a little difficult to enter. A very good day.

This was an absolutely amazing tour. I can’t speak highly enough of our tour guide and his expertise. Our family felt like we were a part of his family taking a trip around the island, he was knowledgeable, kind, and well organized. He took us to some of the best spots in the island, we had a delicious lunch, and learned so much! We appreciated the time he took to customize this tour for exactly what our family wanted to see. He communicated with us during the whole process from pre-booking right to the day if the tour. We knew exactly what to expect, what to bring, and where to meet him on the day of the tour. We also loved the jeep he drove us around in. He even gave us a great tip for a good beach to see in Faial! This tour was an unforgettable experience that we will be talking about for a long time to come!!
