Taputapuatea Marae
Travellers visit the Marae de Taputapuātea, a major site of Polynesian civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sacred place, full of history and spirituality, allows us to understand the central role of Raiatea in the Polynesian triangle. The explanations shed valuable light on the rites, beliefs and connections between Pacific islands.
Depending on weather conditions and water level, travellers will travel up the Faaroa River, the only navigable river in French Polynesia. This gentle immersion in the heart of lush vegetation offers a peaceful and exotic moment, between tropical nature and wild landscapes. (Ascent possible only if conditions permit.)
