  Easy contacts during the preparation of the trek. Answer from Ammar, the owner of the agency, within of 1-2 hours. Qualified guide took care for us during the trek. It's reliable, trustworthy, honest, and always gives brilliant idea where my next hikes and mountain climbing, which I plan every 2 or 3 years only with Gokyo Trek for my Nepal adventures in hike and mountain climbs..   Despite organizing for a day hike with a one day notice, Ammar was extremely professional and kind in both the booking process and the hike. He and his team we're also very well organized as well with clear communication which I really appreciated. We had organized for pickup from our hotel at 07:30 and he was already there at 07:00 ready for us while we ate breakfast and prepared. It was nice being with someone who was well structured and very knowledgeable about Kathmandu as well as the nature around it!

  I reached out to Gokyo Tours because their price seemed the most affordable of other similar tours (almost $200 less!) I did a 7 day Langtang valley trek right before the spring season started. Ammar, the owner, went above and beyond with communication. He was communicative about every detail and as a solo female traveler, I had many fears that he accommodated - looking for other travelers to pair up with (no luck, in spite of Ammar trying!), making sure I was paired with a guide who spoke English well, answering all last minute questions past business hours, and even texting my worried parents updates when I was offline. My guide was Ganesh Kulung and I'd recommend him in general, and for any solo female travellers in particular. He has five sisters, which shows through in this respect and consideration for women (I did not see this in all guides we encountered on the road). I'm a slow trekker and he was patient, never rushing me or making me feel bad about my pace. My only nuanced comment is that the accommodation varies widely - sometimes I had a nice mattress with an attached bath, sometimes I didn't - even when we went back to the same hotel! But I took the difference as part of the experience and adjusted. Overall, I'd like to hike the Himalayas in the future and will likely use Gokyo Travels again.

  Ammar has bien very helpful and accomodating to organise a trek that best suited us. And we had a great time in the Langtang valley with our guide Rajesh. He took very good care of us, explained a lot about the mountains, and did his best to make sure we enjoyed every moment.

  beautiful experience in Langtang, fabulous landscapes and local people with unique hospitality, the icing on the cake was the climb to Gosaikunda Lake where a splendid day allowed us to see part of the Himalayan chain. Great professionalism of our guide Lama and Suria: despite the difficulty in conversing (I don't speak English) we still understood each other and a beautiful friendship was established

  Ammar from Gokyo Treks is very kind, patient, knowledgeable and fair. We were very unsure as to which trek we wanted to do and after careful consideration of our age and physical abilities he was able to recommend a trek for us. We felt like he really listened to our concerns, gave us options amd helped us decide. The weather has been poor so he was able to reschedule our trek at short notice!!! We appreciated this effort on his part very much. He made sure we met our guide ahead of time so we could meet each other and ensure it would be a good partnership. We would very much recommend anyone work with Ammar!!!

  I heard about Kamal's reputation from a Thai friend. So I made a reservation for Kamal to go trekking. The destination is Langtang and I was not disappointed at all. Mr. Kamal treated me like I was part of the family. We felt very safe and secure despite the risky journey. I will definitely come back for trekking in Nepal and with Kamal again.   My experience with Gokyo treks was impeccable. As a solo traveler in one of my first trekking experiences, I was a bit concerned about finding the right guide and porter that could make my experience enjoyable and safe. Well… Kamal and Dipendra made my trip one of the most meaningful experiences in my life. First of all, from a technical perspective, they have an incredible knowledge of all the villages, guesthouses, and trails (due to their extensive experience as guide and porter). Their ability to talk to local hotel owners and those living in the villages allowed them to always be up to date with all the events and potential changes occurring during the time of the trek. If a trail is in bad conditions, or a specific landmark inaccessible, Kamal and Dipendra are immediately able to think of an alternative and safe solution. Second, they were great at making me feel comfortable, even when I was an outsider. Because of the period of the year I chose for my trek, I had to spend some days without any fellow trekker. In some villages, I only met local Nepalis that, at times, did not speak english. Kamal and Dipendra made sure to make me always feel at home, explaining to me what the people around me were saying, and (luckily) also explaining some Nepali words to me. Remember to say “Bittosa” when you like the food you are eating! In terms of safety, Kamal and Dipendra are not the guides who push you to your extremes at the expense of your health. On the contrary, they always encourage you to take it easy and slowly (bistare bistare). Every night, they checked my blood pressure and oxygen level to make sure I was okay. With my well-being always in mind, they allowed me to reach my record altitude of 4,900 meters!!! Lastly, they became wonderful friends. Many times during the trek we talked about different topics, ranging from the local traditions, foods, and vegetation to, for example, politics and world news. We shared so many laughs and built a very meaningful bond. Proof of this is the small aperitif we had at the end of the trek celebrating my, our success. I definitely recommend choosing Gokyo treks for your trekking adventures. You will not be let down.
