Tarpon Feeding Dock
The Tarpon Feeding stop is by far one of the highlights of the tour. We like to say, if you’re not fully awake yet, this is the stop that’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping! Tarpon are massive fish that can grow up to 8 feet long and weigh as much as 300 pounds. Feeding these leaping giants is an unforgettable experience you definitely don’t want to miss when visiting Caye Caulker.
Mesoamerican Reef (Belize Barrier Reef)
The Belize Barrier Reef is approximately 287 miles long. On a full-day tour from Caye Caulker, you’ll be exploring just a small portion of its magnificence. Our next stop is only 8 minutes away from Caye Caulker, where we’ll search 2 to 3 main areas of the reef for manatees. Once found, we’ll snorkel with them—of course—while maintaining a respectful distance and avoiding any touching or harassment of these majestic creatures. If we’re not lucky at first, we’ll continue to other stops and try again on our way back to Caye Caulker.

5.00If you're on the fence about booking a snorkeling trip in Belize, let this be your sign. We did the all-day adventure with Black Hawk and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. Our guides EJ and Al were the real stars of the day. They were knowledgeable, attentive, fun, and clearly passionate about what they do. At Hol Chan, they guided us through and pointed out marine life we absolutely would have missed on our own. Thanks to their patience, we even spotted a manatee, one of those moments you just can't plan for but never forget. They didn't just take us to beautiful spots, they taught us about what we were actually seeing. We left feeling like we learned something, not just floated around and got a tan (though we got that too). Kelvin helped us get geared up at the start and made sure everything fit properly, which made a huge difference in how comfortable we were in the water all day. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, exactly what you need after a full day in the water. The whole operation felt well-run from start to finish. If you want a snorkeling experience that's equal parts adventure and education, with guides who actually care about your experience, book Black Hawk. EJ, Al, and Kelvin, you made our trip. Thank you! There were 11 people including us, so a good group size. The fee you pay covers all you need for the day (including the yummy rum punch at the end).

5.00Al and EJ were so kind and fun. I had a good time and felt like I get a lot out of the experience. The nurse sharks were the highlight :) Definitely would recommend!

5.00Amazing excursion! Very professional and understanding. We had to reschedule our excursion twice due to weather issues with flying into Caye Caulker but they were super understanding and helpful. Just bring sunscreen but everything else is provided! Definitely would book again.

5.00We had a fantastic day on the Hol Chan reef, seeing shark alley, feeding the tarpon fish, seeing green turtles, stingrays, eagle rays, lots of different reef fish, barracudas. The thing we enjoyed the most was swimming with the nurse sharks and seeing the shipwreck (the 'Belizean titanic'). Thank you very much to Al and AJ for being so attentive and giving us really good gear. One thing to watch out for (as others have mentioned) is the sun: we needed lots of sun cream AND wear T-shirts while snorkelling.
This is what seeing the reef is supposed to be like!

5.00Couldn't have asked for a better experience! I'd been snorkeling in the past in more sheltered environments and it was always a bit of a letdown--saw some fish, but nothing exciting. This was completely different. Saw nurse and reef sharks, a stingray, barracuda, sea urchins, a moray, sea turtles and more. Al and EJ were great guides and the only thing I'd do differently was to be more diligent about frequent sunscreen applications :-)

5.00We had a great day with Alwyn and EJ from Blackhawk tours. They were really friendly and made every effort to help us see as much wildlife as possible. We saw turtles, stingray, dolphins and sharks. They were fun to be with and explained everything really clearly to us. The groups are small- there were 8 of us in total in our boat, which was ideal as Alwyn and EJ were able to help everyone. This was particularly important in the Hol Chan reserve as you need a guide to take you and Alwyn was able to point out the different fish and coral. The currents were particularly strong at this point due to the weather but EJ was on hand to assist with anyone struggling. There is a good mix of fun stops such as the tarpon feeding and sharks as well as chances to snorkel with bigger fish. The highlight for us was the stingray and turtles. I went with two teenagers- they enjoyed it and were exhausted at the end! The lunch was really good and filling- much needed after the snorkeling. The adults all enjoyed the rum punch on the way back! Looking forward to seeing the Go pro pictures.

5.00Laid back but professional and fun snorkel trip for the whole family. We had a great time and loved Al and EJ - our guides who took care of us from departure to return. We saw an abundance of wildlife and swam with the sharks as an unexpected bonus.
