Step into the Arctic night and explore the Finnish wilderness on snowshoes. This 4-hour evening adventure from Levi takes you far from town lights, where the silence of the snowy landscape meets the vast starry sky. Guided by an experienced local, you’ll trek through forests and open areas, pausing to admire constellations and, if lucky, the Northern Lights dancing above.
Everything you need, thermal suits, snowshoes, and poles, is provided, so you can focus on the Arctic night: walking through snow and admiring the stars. Your guide offers stargazing and photography tips, and midway, enjoy a warm drink, biscuits, and a fresh local sandwich.
To enjoy Levi to the fullest, we suggest renting thermal clothing during your whole stay, both for safety and comfort. Professional photos are included.

We begin with a scenic drive of up to one hour, leaving the lights of Levi behind as we head deep into the Finnish wilderness — the perfect setting for star gazing.
Lapland
Upon arrival, we put on our snowshoes and set off on a peaceful walk through the snow-covered landscape, surrounded by silence and Arctic darkness. If the weather conditions allow, the sky opens above us — filled with stars and, with a bit of luck, the magical Northern Lights.

Magical walk through the night forest

5.00My mum and I had a wonderful time during this night walk. Since we were the only ones attenting we got a private tour and our guide Erwin was the best! He knew a lot about the national park we went to and the wildlife in that area so we learned a lot. The forest was pretty magical at night, something we wouldn't have experienced without this tour! Walking on the snowshoes turned out to be esier than expected so this was very beginner friendly. Our walk was a little over two hours long and we took a break in a small hut and had a nice meal and hot chocolate next to the fire. It was quite cloudy so sadly we weren't able to see the beautiful night sky but we had a wonderful time regardless! At the end of our trip Erwin was so kind to drop us off directliy infront of our Airbnb. He also took some really cool photos which he send us not to long after. This experience was unlike anything I've ever done before and is something we will remember for a very long time! I would definetly recommend this tour, especially if you're fascinated by nature and it's beauty!

5.00This experience was a once in a lifetime experience, walking through the Arctic forest in Lapland, ending up on a frozen lake and getting the opportunity to see some great northern lights activity. Our guide Erwin was very friendly, knowledgeable and provided a fun experience.

5.00Exceptional activity! It was both sporty and magical. We may have discovered the Lapland forest at night and observed the Northern Lights in the sky. Our guide was patient, caring and told us lots of super interesting anecdotes. I recommend for the first time in Finnish Lapland

5.00Unfortunately we didn’t see the Northern Lights, but it was a great experience nonetheless! Gerwin our Mexican tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! We really enjoyed the night walk, and highly recommend Wandering Owl. Looking forward to receiving the professional photos, and hoping to come back soon to see the Aurora!

5.00The hike was a really great experience despite the freezing cold. Everything was well organized so you felt in good hands from the beginning. ☺️ Our guide was very friendly and shared a lot of knowledge about nature and the environment. In addition, all wishes of the group were taken into account, which made the hike additionally very pleasant. The photos taken by the guide have also become very nice - so the phone could stay in the warm pocket. Highly recommended!

Fantastic walking in a fairy tale!

5.00We had a great experience with our guide Erwin! During the walk in a fairytale setting, he told us all about the animal tracks we saw and the different trees along the way. In a hiker's cabin he made a fire and supplied us with soup, tea and biscuits. He also told a lot about Finnish and Sami culture. We think this excursion is highly recommended. Wandering Owl is an organization that stands for small-scale excursions in a non-tourist environment.

5.00Great experience, our tourguide had a lot of knowledge and we learned a lot about the northern lights and the night sky with al the stars. He also organised some special food for us as we have dietary restrictions. We were really lucky with the northern lights but it was really really cold (-30*C), not even the fire could keep us warm, so bring enough warm clothing! Can really recommend this tour. He even took some pictures with the professional camera and sent them later.

5.00From Levi we drove 20 minutes to a lake. Here we were equipped with snowshoes and hiked through a forest. In between there were great pictures of the Northern Lights and explanations of stars Autora and Finnish nature. At the end we had a warm drink and soup. All in all, a successful evening.

5.00I had an amazing experience on this walk through the Finnish wilderness! Our guide Erwin was very patient and attentive, he had a lot of knowledge on the area and told us interesting facts about the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights as we walked, and Erwin let us stop to enjoy it, take it all in and take pictures even though it meant we ended up over time. All the gear required is provided and there is time at the beginning to put it on. Even if we hadn’t see the northern lights I would have been happy, the walk alone was so much fun, the stars looked beautiful and it was such a great experience overall. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone.
