  Lovely and informative tour but not what was advertised. The experience is an immersive tour of Armenian history which if that is what you are there for, it is top tier. My husband and I left before we even got to the tasting since it wasn’t what we signed up for. The tour and Father are lovely if that is what you are there for, my rating is solely reflective of the false advertising with the hope they update it for future guests

  This is NOT A LIQUEUR TASTING OR TOUR! It’s a 85 minute tour and history of a Armenian Monastery- which is fantastic if you want a tour of a Armenian Monastery- then it’s a fantastic tour the Father who gave the tour was so nice and sweet, highly recommend if you want some wonderful Armenian History and tour of Monastery. But if you want a liqueur and chocolate tasting this is 100% not accurate you will spend 5 minutes trying a liqueur they make and then be handed a random piece of candy. Such a shame - it really a needs to be advertised as what it is and I honestly think they would get more visitors.

  We VERY highly recommend this experience; possibly the highlight of our Vienna visit. We didn't expect this tour to include so many museum pieces--we were mostly just expecting drinking--but it ended up being a very pleasant and unique surprise! Father Vahan led our tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and is a naturally gifted tour guide. We loved him! Final note: You should bring cash with you. They have a wide selection of assorted pieces of art for sale and bottles of their delicious liqueur.

  It's not my first time in Vienna. Before that, everything visited the iconic tourist places ( must see ), of which there are many. But this time I decided to pay attention to something that's not in everyone's ears. And one such place is the Armenian Monastery in Vienna (Mechitharisten Kloster), which has existed here for more than 200 years. It is an entire complex that harmoniously combines religion, art, science, book printing and even its own production of liquor. I had an individual tour with the wonderful Father Van, who spoke very passionately not only about the history of the Order but also about the history of Armenia. I learned about the centuries-old history of this Order, beginning centuries before the foundation of the monastery in Vienna, and I looked at a wonderful museum, which has fine arts, a department of numismatics, a collection of handmade carpets, ancient manuscripts, dishes, clothes. The great contemporaries were not forgotten here: Martiros Saryan, William Saroyan and, of course, Aivazovsky, great theatre actors. The library contains a large number of books that are still the subject of research by scholars. Church , located near the monastery, active and attended. On Saturdays and Sundays there are services with a wonderful choir. And at the end of the tour took place a tasting of the monastery's signature liqueur, the recipe of which is kept strictly secret and has existed for many centuries. The liquor is infused with a large number of herbs and is curative, for example, for the cardiovascular system and stomach, although quite strong (30%), after the first sips a little "hits the head", but the aftertaste is very pleasant. Manufactured in three variants. I strongly recommend that the next time you visit Vienna, you make sure to plan an excursion to the monastery. You will not only be able to immerse yourself in Armenia's centuries-old history and culture, but also trace it back to today, for example, taste a unique liqueur, unique of its kind. For an hour and a half, you will be able to take your mind off the urban hustle and bustle of capital life and enjoy extraordinary peace and quiet. And you can book a tour through the Ayrarat Tour.   I enjoyed my traveling with your company. I liked wandering along Vienna streets, and the highlight of my tour was tasing Mechitatharine liqueur there. Everything was well-organized with detailed consideration. I will highly recommend the others to make use of the chance and enjoy their trip to Vienna with this very agency.

  My husband and I were so excited to take Mekhitharine liquor tour. We visited the place where delicious Mekhitharine is made. We realized this from every glass detail, just tasting the liquors made with different herbs, roots and exotic fruits. We were lucky to have the possibility to buy these liquors directly from the producer at exclusive prices.

  The Mkhitarist congregation took part in the tasting of liquors (as it turned out according to ancient Armenian recipes). Gamma and variety of tastes will probably leave no one indifferent. And if you consider that they are also healthy, as they are made on herbs. We advise everyone who visits Vienna!
