Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. 5.00I recently did the castles and wine day trip with Raymond and had a great overall experience. The itinerary was excellent and gave a well-rounded look at the Loire Valley in just one day. Raymond did a great job keeping the group organized and on schedule, and the day ran smoothly overall. He has great history telling which made the bus ride fun. We were able to get 3 bottles of small batch wine for about €35 at one of the chateau’s after the wine tasting which was very special to me. A couple things to be aware of for future travelers: there was a longer stretch on the bus (around 3 hours) without a bathroom stop, and this wasn’t communicated clearly ahead of time. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something I wish I had known in advance. Also, time at each château is somewhat limited, so I’d recommend focusing on seeing the main castle itself rather than trying to explore the full grounds or do extra activities (you won’t have time for everything) I’d definitely recommend it/a bus tour like this to get out of Paris for the day!

5.00This tour is informative and great. It starts early 7:30am and we got back at 7:30pm so it’s a long day. You’re on a nice bus with no bathrooms so be prepared. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
