Lopes Mendes is probably the most well-known beach of Ilha Grande, mainly because it is considered by many, including tour's magazines and travel websites, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Planet surely it deserts its fame, but the best thing about hiking to Lopes Mendes is the journey we have to get there.
On this adventure, you can look forward to getting very close to nature with possible wildlife encounters, refreshing water streams, pristine beaches and exuberant scenery.
Reaching Lopes Mendes is just the cherry on the cake of this challenging but rewarding hike.
The experience last between 6-8 hrs and the hiking takes approximately 2:30h-3:30h depending on your pace; the hike requires constant effort and good mobility.
Don't worry! Our hiking will take as long as you need to get there at a comfortable pace.
We take regular boat transportation back to Vila do Abraão.

5.00I did the private hike with Bruno to the Lopes Mendes beach. It was the best day on the Island! Bruno is very insightful of Ilha Grande and so is the perfect companion! It‘s definitely much more rewarding reaching the beach after a 3h hike, than by boat. Bruno knows the Island very well and gives tipps for other activities as well. Very much appreciated! Thanks for the wonderful day, Bruno😃

5.00Ilha Grande Hiking, undoubtedly the best way to explore the real and overwhelming beauty of the island. Already the short boat trip along the coastline to the starting point of the hike is stunning. The hike is tailored around your wishes, expectations (and beyond) and pace to make the most out of this experience. During the tour with Bruno (our guide) we learned a lot about the island, it’s history, nature and wildlife but first and foremost the hike was a lot of fun. If you really want to taste the unique flavor of the island…..Ilha Grande Hiking…..your way to go !!

5.00Ilha Grande has so much to offer as far as scenery and great hiking! Bruno is literally the best guide we've ever had in all our travels! He takes his time to plan your day and make sure you get the most out of it. We were supposed to go on a different hike but the weather was not ideal so we opted for this hike and it was excellent! On top of it all, Bruno helped book a last minute tour with a boat company the next day (he only does hiking tours). They did not have any English speaking guides so, do he decided to join us with and guide us. Highly recommend them to anyone who is traveling to Ilha Grande!

5.00This was one of the most wonderful experiences ever. Bruno was an amazing time and had extended knowledge about the island. I felt very safe, that was important to me cause I was traveling alone, but came back having felt I really got to know the island. And had a great work out!! This is a must -do when you’re in island grande!! What a GREAT DAY!!! Go for it!!!!

5.00Excellent professional and a wonderful track! I went to Caxadaço and then, by my will, Bruno adapted a trail that would end in Lopes Mendes to go to Dois Rios. Sensational experience with an excellent professional. I recommend.

5.00We enjoyed a wonderful day on Big Island and that was thanks to Bruno! The trail we did with it taught us parts of the island that are not so touristic and we could enjoy the nature and curiosities that told us. We feel safe at all times and make the most of the experience. Recommended 100%!

5.00We hiked to Lopes Mendes with Bruno and it was spectacular. He was attentive to us all the way, telling curiosities of the island, and we enjoyed nature and incredible scenery, a trail that mixes jungle and beach, nature in its purest state. Definitely our best choice of all the activities we did in Isla Grande!! Thank you again Bruno!!
