Around Los Tuneles you will find a highly contrasted colour for snorkeling with clear, calm water. Additionally, the lava flows that passed through this area had formed unique geological formations which are, of course, shaped like tunnels. You will get the chance to spot large quantities of seabirds such as the Albatros, Flamingos, Blue Footed Boobies and the magnificent Frigate bird. Besides, you can find species feeding such as tortoises, swimming iguanas, sea lions, manta rays, Galapagos penguins, lobsters, and sea snakes.

Early in the morning, you will go on a 30 to 40 minute boat ride from Puerto Villamil. The max group size is 10 participants per guide. You will explore the brilliant scenery in Los Tuneles which is considered the most beautiful place to snorkel in Isabela Island. Around the Los Tuneles you will find a highly contrasted colour for snorkeling with clear, calm water. Additionally, the lava flows that passed through this area had formed unique geological formation and, of course, shaped like tunnels. You will get the chance to spot large quantities of seabirds such as the Albatros, Flamingos, Blue Footed Boobies and the magnificent frigatebird. Besides, you can find species feeding such as tortoises, swimming iguanas, sea lions, manta rays, Galapagos penguins, lobsters, and sea snakes. This exciting activity takes approximately about 6 hours including the boat rides and a snack before a short hike. The snorkeling area is about 800 meters and the average water temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. This beautiful place will definitely make your trip to Isabela even more special.

Great tour. Didn’t get to see rock lobster or sea horses but saw lots of sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, even a giant eagle ray

Seahorses! Octopus! Sharks! Turtles! Rays! All within 15 minutes of snorkeling. There no way we would have found the seahorse or the octopus without our guide, Darwin. I highly recommend snorkeling at the 2nd site at the tunnels. Not a ton of sea creatures like the first site, but the geological features can’t be beat! Lunch was also delicious! We also found some Blue footed Boobies that were nesting. When we were done, Darwin airdropped >100 photos & videos from our day. One video is jaw dropping. Truly one of our best days in the Galapagos!!

It takes a long bumpy speedboat ride to get to this place. It is truly really really beautiful, but because it is popular and many tour groups go here, the water can get stirred up and murky. We went at midday and it was pretty useless to try and take underwater photos. Each group has to stay with their guide and go from one place to another, so if feels like - sleeping sharks - check! - green turtle - check! - seahorse - check! - it was a bit pressured. Maybe I am a snorkeling snob, I don't know. Once our little group got away from the others - in the actual tunnels of lava - if was serene and absolutely magical. Just remember your seasickness medicine!

A great daytour! The only place in the Galapagos Islands where you can observe sea horses. I absolutely loved this place and would defenitely recommend the day tour. Great boat, great gear, great guide!

We took this day trip on our private island hopping tour also organized by Rebecca Travel. This trip was well organized, knowledgeable guides. Beautiful snorkling! highly recommended. ps: the lunch during the trip was really good!!

The only thing I have to put up with about the tour is that it is a half-day tour where the snorkeling takes about an hour. The tour as a whole was just great. You drive about an hour out to Los Tuneles. You pass a rock with birds and sea lions. Then we go to Los Tuneles, you first go ashore and see many birds with their young. The guide is very nice, informative and tells a lot about the bird species and the landscape. Then you drive a little further and go snorkeling for about a tour. I've seen some sea turtles, two seahorses, a spotted ray, a flock of rays and some Tintorera's sharks. The guide did the snorkeling tour very well. Before heading back there was something to eat.

We booked our excusion with Rosedelco and Eduardo was our guide. He spoke excellent English for our group who were from Europe and the USA. We saw so much wildlife including blue footed boobies, penguins, sharks, turtles, sea horses, sea lions, giant manta ray, golden rays and many fish. Our Captain ‘John Travolta’ was an excellent navigator. We even caught a few fish on the way home. Very ethical and respectful-to-nature tour company.
