Hire your own speed boat with just a car driving licence! A full map briefing and boat tuition is given before you set off on this amazing journey. From 1st timers to experienced sailors, Latchi watersports has you covered. All boats come with snorkelling equipment, a cool box and all necessary safety equipment. The coastline of the Akamas is one of the most beautiful in Cyprus. When you rent a boat you will have many different bays to explore and sights to see along the way. Some of the highlights are described below, although there are also many more bays which are not listed here. St Georges Island This island is located around 800 meters offshore from St George’s Reef. On the surface the barren volcanic outcrop is home to multiple species of seabirds, while below the surface the island is home to a vast array of marine life including tuna, groupers, trumpet fish and octopus. Secret Beach Swim through the cave or around the rocks to this hidden sandy beach, but it’s a secret so don’t tell anyone! Amphitheatre. Manolis Bay Manolis was a fisherman, to be more precise a dynamite fisherman. According to local legend this is where he gave up fishing permanently... As you enter this bay you will notice that the water has taken on a beautiful blue colour, this is due to the fine white sand on the seabed. As you progress into the bay you will see the caves and jumbled rocks that make this bay so interesting, when snorkeling look out for the large family of trumpet fish that have made this bay their home and observe the way they change colour relative to their environment. The Blue Lagoon The most popular bay in the whole of Cyprus, as soon as you arrive you will be dazzled by the beautiful white sandy bottom and crystal clear turquoise water. The stunning chamili islet provides an impressive habitat for many types of marine life and excellent snorkeling. This bay is a definite must! Fontana Amorosa There are still four visible cutouts in the rocks for docking boats and its location provides shelter from the prevailing wind, a perfect place to stop for awhile. Look underwater and as you might expect from a harbour you will find some rubbish, but ancient rubbish in the form of amphora. Some are said to be offerings to the gods, whereas others are clearly from shipwrecks. Most of these have now fused into the rocks and have become homes to various types of marine life. Arnaoutis Beach Situated at Cyprus’s western most point, this golden sandy beach is an ideal spot for a picnic and its seclusion makes it an ideal place to get away from it all. From here you will see the offshore reef which is 8km from Latchi harbour and a turnaround point for your trip along the coast.

5.00We rented a boat (Eden 18) for self-driving for a whole day. Rental went with a car license (I also have a boat license though). Everything was well explained. Even as an inexperienced boater you can start such a tour. You can drive along the coast about 15 kilometers. With the different bays you can easily spend a whole day with it.

5.00So friendly and professional, we've never hired or driven a boat before but they took the time to help us feel confident and even came to check on us without being in anyway intrusive. Truly a fantastic experience, everyone who visits cyprus should do!

5.00Staff are excellent very friendly and helpful. We spent 4 hours on our boat and thoroughly enjoyed every single minute. Stopped in all the various bays along the coast including The Blue Lagoon. Swam in the sea and did some snorkelling. Don't worry if you've never driven a boat before it's so very easy and you'll be given tuition on how everything works. All in all a brilliant time was had and would definitely recommend Latchi Watersports. Steve and Ellie

5.00We booked the Luxury Eden 18 for 4 hours, which was more than enough time to explore the coast. Everything was super easy and well organized. The built-in speaker didn’t work at first, but it really wasn’t a big deal. After about 2 hours on the water, one of the crew came out with another boat and offered to swap ours for a different one. The rescue team had already fixed the speaker by then, but they still insisted we take the bigger, more luxurious boat and they even restarted our 4-hour rental time from that moment! In the end we spent the whole day on the water, on a much larger boat, all because of a tiny issue that they handled amazingly. The staff were so friendly and helpful — really top-notch service. There are lots of great spots along the way to stop for a swim or snorkel, like the Blue Lagoon. Everything’s clearly marked, and there’s always a rescue boat around if you need help. You stay in touch via radio, so it all feels super safe and easy. We had such a fun and relaxing day. Latchi Watersports is definitely the place to go if you want to rent a boat in Cyprus!

5.00I had an incredible time renting a boat from Latchi Watersports. I rented an Eden 18 on my own for four hours (which I extended to six hassle-free as I was having such a good time!). I showed up just before my booking time and was immediately sat down for a thorough briefing of the area, where is safe to take the boat and where to avoid. Photos and maps were provided to allow me to get my bearings and see where was safe to go. After a brief wait I was given a practical demo of raising and lowering the engine, starting the boat, manoeuvring and anchoring it, and a brief on how to work the VHF, along with a radio check. This all made me feel really reassured and safe - I have some dinghy sailing experience but nothing with engines - staff were very accommodating of this and assured me no experience was necessary. I was driven out of the harbour to a safe distance, and was checked on three different occasions by two different safety boats. I was also offered help to anchor the first time, although I was okay and had purposefully anchored a little further away for some peace from another boat that was playing loud music! The time flew in - there is a lot to see and I went snorkelling in each of the bays. In my opinion the blue lagoon is a little overrated, probably because it is very busy with the large tourist boats. The other marked bays are far nicer and quieter. I particularly liked Manolis Bay which has caves. When it was time to go back I just returned to the harbour entrance and radioed for pickup. I was then driven back to the dock and settled up my bill for fuel and the extra time. While it’s not necessarily cheap to do this on your own, the pricing is not unreasonable in my opinion, and will be cheaper when the bill is split. The only suggestion I would have would be to upgrade the buoyancy aids which are starting to look a little dated. Thanks very much to all the staff I dealt with who were very friendly, professional, and made me feel super safe and confident on the water. And also thank you to the woman who had a great deal of patience while I dealt with some card issues at the till! I will be back next year… perhaps to scuba dive?

5.00A thoroughly enjoyable day out with my family.Booking was simple, arrivals and post hire briefing professional and to the point. We then had a fantastic 4 hours following the coast up towards Akamas Peninsula, Superb Well worth doing.
