Maya Bay
Phi Phi Island Tour’s first glimpse of magic - Maya Bay Phi Phi Maya Bay has been a "must sightseeing location" for hordes of Thailand tourists for decades and as such, has suffered from its overuse. Thankfully the National Park prohibited from 2018 to the end of 2021, any boat from dropping anchor in the bay and alighting at the beach, to allow the gorgeous coral island treasures, wildlife and environment time to recover. 4.00Overall we enjoyed the sunrise tour to the Phi Phi Islands and although this review might seem a bit negative we did have a really nice time. We were collected from our hotel and driven to the boat harbour for a light self-serve breakfast. We were offered an anti sickness pill, hand sanitiser and a waterproof bag for our personal belongings. We were introduced to the crew and told how to say hello and thanks in Thai and about the toilet, but at no point was there any mention of safety guidance and no clear sight of life jackets which actually became terrifying considering this was an open single deck speed boat with 20 people on board and the waves were rough travelling at high speed. The crew looked relaxed but as a passenger the realisation of potential danger started to feel very real and worrying. We’ve been on many boat trips that were significantly more sedate than this one and have always been given safety guidance and life jackets have either been under our seats or in an easy to identify location. On our first swim stop it transpired that there were some life jackets available if people wanted to use them as well as some noodle floats. I’m not sure there were enough for everyone though - I could only see 2 jackets. There was also a passenger onboard that had accessibility requirements due to their size that could not easily be catered for on this particular model boat. Again, something that needs to be made clear in advance as this raised additional health and safety concerns and may have caused some discomfort and disappointment for the passenger who wasn’t able to get on or off the boat for all except one swim stop which was difficult and required physical help from the crew. If you are not able bodied I’d say this particular boat trip may not be suitable and you’d be better off taking a smaller and slower long tail boat which might be easier to access as there are no narrow entrance points or ladders to deal with. A final point to make is that this tour is advertised as “luxury & small group” - for me a small group is up to 10 passengers and the only part you could consider “luxury” is the resort you have lunch in at the end. The rest of this boat tour I’d classify as pretty standard. As I’ve said this was an enjoyable trip overall and the islands are beautiful and seeing the sunrise was special. The crew was very pleasant and the drinks and snacks provided were good (although bring water as there was only fizzy drink available) - the lunch at the end was excellent. Everyone onboard was happy including us, but there’s nothing more fundamental than one’s safety and reassurance that sufficient measures are in place should anything go wrong must be prioritised and communicated at the start of the trip.

5.00Wonderful time visiting Phi Phi Islands. From pick up to drop off the entire excursion was flawless. Sara and the crew really took amazing care of the guests.with their dietary needs to making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the day on the water. Thank you to Sara, Dani and the captain for a memorable day.

5.00Had such a lovely time on this tour as solo female traveller. I met another solo travler and a got along with a few other people. The guide MoMo is super nice and the guy handling the boats as well. Very kind and lovely experience. I book this the day before so kind of last minute but had the best time.

5.00The crew was extremely friendly and the hotel transfer was super easy to sort out. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times also, providing snacks along the trip. The boat ride was very safe and the views both during the boat ride and all the stops were amazing. Make sure to take some medication if you get sea sick, they provide some for you before the trip.

5.00Everything was perfect. The driver picked us up a minute ago. Everything was super well organized. We arrived on Maya Beach the first there was practically no one, the two spots of Snorqueling were beautiful with lots of fish, we had a great day , the crew was very careful. Really a perfect organization. The meal was very good really everything was perfect. I recommend 100%.

5.0010 star, A ++, TOTALLY AWESOME Day!!! The staff was wonderful, they fed you tons, the boat ride was great, and the 7 stops and views were totally worth it! Leaving at 6 am was well worth not standing in long lines. All the world travelers we were with agreed this was one of the most beautiful places they have ever seen. Worth every penny! Do it! Do not hesitate!

5.00This speed boat tour met all our expectations. The guide NoiNoi and the boat driver and first mate were very competent and friendly. The food was excellent and the snorkeling sites amazing. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Phuket.

5.00We had a marvelous time on the sunrise tour. It was totally worth waking up early. The boat was comfortable, the crew was attentive, the snacks were tasty. Loved our stops and the snorkeling. I would not classify this as a “luxury” tour. But it was enjoyable nonetheless. The cost was reasonable, and I would recommend to others.
