If you are a more experienced kayaker, trying to get away from the regular crowds and varying levels of experience and skill that come with them, the 4 hour excursion trip is for you. This is a tour for the adventurer, an opportunity to go a little bit further and see a whole lot more. Spend 4 hours total on the water, guided by an experienced local naturalist, exploring the vast cypress forests and bayous that make up our nation’s 2nd largest bald cypress swamp

I just finished the extended kayaking tour of Manchac Swamp and it was absolutely amazing! Our guide Stephanie was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the swamp and its wildlife. I really appreciated how she tailored the tour to the group and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. Paddling through the serene waters, surrounded by cypress trees and Spanish moss, felt like stepping into another world. I loved seeing and hearing so many different birds. It was the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and learning. Highly recommended!

We loved our swamp tour. It was quiet and relaxing, but active. Beautiful scenery that we could be at one with. A few alligators

[email protected] We went on our first swamp kayak tour and this was a HIGHLIGHT of our time in NOLA! Our guide, Stephanie, was super knowledgeable, attentive, and made the experience fantastic. We saw so much- from alligators (many) to egrets, herons, owls, turtles, fish and even a water snake. Bravo!

We had the most amazing (!) and educational swamp kayak tour experience, led by Nick from Kayak Swamp Tours. Nick was incredibly knowledgeable about everything swamp related - from animal wildlife, geography, nature, history, conservation and future plans. We saw an amazing number of alligators, owls and many bird species, turtles and even deers running across drylands in the swamp. We cannot recommend Nick highly enough! Thank you so much!

It was a brilliant tour, one of the best things we did on our trip to New Orleans, Stephanie was a great guide and took time to explain the background to the swamp and the animals and birds that we saw. We were glad we took the longer tour as it enabled us to see much more.

Nick was our guide with a wealth of knowledge of the area, trees, and local wildlife. We had a great experience with him and our two other group members. We were able to go deep into the bayou which is what we were looking for.

We had an excellent day on the 4-hr Extended Manchak Swamp tour! We were glad we did the longer tour because we had time to go further in, where the swamp is completely different, narrower, and you’re completely surrounded by trees. Extremely peaceful and beautiful. Nick was an excellent guide—friendly, easy-going, and full of information on birds, trees, and ecology. He’s an excellent spotter! We saw alligators, egrets, barred owls, woodpeckers, turtles. It’s a full day with transportation and well worth it. Bring lunch and water and a snack for after. Thanks for a trip we’ll long remember, Nick!
Nice to get out of New Orleans and be in the swamp.....

What a great tour, and a little exercise. We are locals and to be honest do not do a lot of tours, but this one was special River picked us up on Rampart, and we headed out. We are not big Kayak people, in fact I only did it once. But River set us up (my husband and I) in one Kayak and we floated through the swamp. What a view of the trees, birds, and swamp creatures. We caught an alligator sleeping. On the way out stopped by the local gas station for real Boudin, home-made Jambalaya, and po-boys

Very nice trip to the Bayous with Chelsea, who also knew a lot about the history of the marshes. Although the wildlife has been quite decimated by the intensive hunting she has found some animals for us
