We will take you to the summit of Mauna Kea to see the sunset and we will do stargazing afterward (not at the summit). Our most unique part is that our guides will take the photo of the sunset and stars for you using their DSLR camera.
All photos are free of charge and you will get it to your smartphone at the end of the tour.

Please note that in times of bad weather sunset or stargazing are not 100% guaranteed and moonphase will affect the visibility of the stars.
Please note that, depending on any guests get altitude sickness or other conditions, the time spent at the summit and the stargazing location may be adjusted.

Onizuka Astronomy Complex
Onizuka Visitor Information Station We will take a break at the Onizuka Visitor Center at an altitude of 2,800m or 9,000ft for early dinner and altitude acclimatization. We also change clothes for winter clothes here depending on the weather. Also gift shop is open for guests to purchase the items. (No food or drink sale)

5.00Definitely a magical experience watching the sunset at 4200m above ea level and above the clouds. Having a great tour guide like James is a must. His photography skills ensure that you capture the memories.

5.00This tour wound up exceeding expectations especially with JAMES. If you’re a planing on booking this tour (which you should) I’d try and request James ahead of time if that’s possible. This guy is truly a genuine spirit that radiates positivity. His humor and personality made the whole tour extremely positive. He kept the tour flowing with some geographic info as we drove to our destination. No hesitation in any of his driving and took absolutely wonderful photos of everyone in the group. We had hot cocoa during the star gazing and the BLT was actually put together well. This guy is a sweetheart of a human. We were blessed with a clear day and a great guide.

5.00Tour guide very experienced and helpful. Abundant introductions during the long drive. They took great pictures during sunset and stargazing. Food and coats were also offered at good timing. Plus the tour guide has good taste of music during the trip.

5.00This tour was amazing! They even provided coats, pants and gloves. Shoyo was great at taking photos!! Then we got hot cocoa while watching an amazing star show. We even got see Saturn Ja a telescope. This is my second time taking this tour with this company, and I’d do it again if I ever come back to Kona!!
