The Kwan Tee Pagoda is the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere and the oldest on the Island. Its construction and location reflects the principles of spirituality and is an oasis of peace & tranquility though located in the busy capital city of Port-Louis. The pagoda is nestled in a majestic piece of land with beautiful gardens full of coconut trees and a few seasonal fruit trees.

Aapravasi Ghat

The Appravsi Ghat depicts a historical tale of the first place of landing and depot for immigration controlled by the colonial British government in 1849. It has played a pivotal role in the Mauritian history, as it is from this very instance that the Mauritian population became more diverse than ever. Stroll through the memories area that showcases several historical images and displays that reflect the past history of Indian immigration.

After taking the scenic south west tour with Avi and Jaya we just had to book another tour with them! We had a great day touring Port Louis and visiting Cap Malheureux. Again, they designed the tour exactly for our taste. Jaya took us to see the Aapravasi Ghat World Heritage Site and explained all of the history alongside. This was really interesting! Afterwards we went to the market. Jaya seems to know a lot about cooking and she was really great at showing us the different fruits and vegetables you can get at the market! We also went for a great lunch with dim sum and fried noodles in Chinatown, this was really good. I absolutely recommend this tour or any other tour with Avi and Jaya!

Jaya and Avi made my day! It’s a must do when you are in Mauritius! They were attentive and kind to take care of the needs and really made it a cherished experience!

This was an excellent tour. We saw a lot of great places in Port Louis which otherwise we'd have missed. The guide took us to some amazing local places to taste different types of street food, and that was delicious as well. But most importantly, driving around Port Louis is super hectic. Parking is a big problem. So without a guide, had we tried to do the same tour, we would never have hit all the spots. I was tired from all the driving - and I wasn't even the driver. I genuinely believe that for anyone interested in this tour, doing the guided experience with this company is the way to go. We loved our tour guide and the tour. Totally recommend it.
