We will be having a taste of what’s cooking in the pot as we walk through two beautiful towns and discover the locality with all it has to offer beyond the food itself. Accompanied by a fully licensed professional guide, you will discover the two beautiful towns of Mdina and Rabat whilst trying some of the most traditional dishes our islands offer.
We start by walking through Mdina past the aristocratic palaces after having the famous pastizzi along with the local drink Kinnie.
After walking past the Cathedral and seeing the view from the bastions we stroll through some very atmospheric streets into Rabat.
We then walk through the narrow winding streets of Rabat to get in the centre of the town where after walking past the St Paul's Church we stop to make ħobż biz-zejt whilst trying local beers.
We finish at a local restaurant trying the star of Maltese cuisine, obviously rabbit, along with which some other Maltese traditional delicacies and a glass of local red wine.

Mdina Main Gate - Baroque gateway
We will walk through this main entrance to the old capital city of Malta which has featured in many movies that have been filmed here.
Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Paul
We will stop for pictures in front of the mother church of the Maltese Islands dedicated to St Paul.

Fully Licensed Professional Tourist Guide
The tour includes various stops to try the local delicacies the islands offer. That will include pastizzi, ħobż biż-żejt with all the sides, bragioli and rabbit.

5.00Excellent tour combining the local sights and history with plenty of local food to sample. Chris was our guide, and was well versed on the history and indeed local knowledge. Tour went a a good pace with plenty of time to take in the wonderful streets. The food was authentic local dishes from local vendors, a great way to sample the real food of Malta.

5.00Our guide was absolutely fantastic – full of energy, enthusiasm, and an obvious love for Malta’s culture and history. His passion made every story and every stop come alive, and we learned so much while having fun. We tried pea pastizzi, rabbit, Maltese sausage, stuffed olives, and even had the chance to drink Kinnie. It was the perfect mix of culture, history, and authentic local flavors. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Malta who wants more than just a meal, but a real cultural experience.

5.00Chris was great! He messaged the night before to make sure no one had allergies. He knew the area well, as his family has lived there since the 1400s. He really tried to pay attention to things my friend and I were taking photos of to show us similar things. So much attention to detail. He really made it special.

5.00What an amazing tour with Chris yesterday! Mdina and Rabat are absolutely beautiful and full of fascinating history which Chris is obviously passionate about. The food and wine were delicious and we came away absolutely stuffed! We managed to dodge the heaviest of the rain as well! Can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Fantastic!

5.00We had a wonderful morning our guide was fantastic. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about all things Maltese, was very easy to understand in English. The food tasting was delicious a real variety at different eateries all with their own charm. The wine was fabulous too. We came away feeling we had had great value for money. We can highly recommend.

Combining history, culture & anecdotes with fabulous food & great company, this is a wonderful introduction to Malta & you couldn’t have a better guide. I would do it early in your stay so you could go back & visit the excellent cafes & restaurants in the tour. Enjoy!

5.00The food and history tour was very easy to book. Chris made contact the day before to ask of any food requirements and to let us know our tour guide Josianne would meet us at the designated bar. From start to finish we found Josianne to be very knowledgeable about the history of Mdina, Rabat and Malta she was incredibly informative, kind, helpful and stopped to provide further information. The food was fantastic and plentiful. We are looking forward to going back to the places we stopped at with a better understanding. I highly recommend Best Tours Malta 10 out 10.
