In the Old Town Hall’s enigmatic underground we will discover not only former Romanesque and Gothic houses, but even an original street. The labyrinthine subterranean system is older than the Town Hall itself, and the complex of medieval halls, passages and tunnels is the largest of its kind in Prague. At the point where the unspoilt streets of Prague’s Old Town give way to the redeveloped Jewish Quarter, you will see how Prague progressively grew in height.

5.00Alena was a very thorough and knowledgeable guide, with superb English. Her enthusiasm for the history of Prague shone through. She also had a subtle and cheeky sense of humour. At 2 hours, the tour was longer than we expected.

3.00Got shown the basements beneath the old town hall and the remnants of some old houses that you could see if you bought tickets to an exhibition. A lot of the tour was in fact above ground looking at photos of buildings that used to be there. I am sure some visitors will find it informative but it wasn’t what we were expecting.
