  I was excited for the experience given the excellent reviews but ended up being a little disappointed. While the food was good, I just felt that I could’ve had the same experience if I explored myself and was pretty expensive for what it was (almost $70 USD). Many of the dishes we ate were under 50 pesos. However I understand not everyone is comfortable going into local markets/restaurants and ordering, so it might be more worth it for you in that case. I thought our tour guide was just okay. She was nice to talk to when I asked questions but I felt like she didnt add that much value and wasn’t that engaging. The best part of the tour was meeting other travelers which made it a fun experience. Personally, I’d recommend just doing online research and trying local food yourself for much cheaper.

  Eat a light breakfast, and skip lunch. Make room for some great street food. Great guide, enjoyed the tour.

  This is a great experience, especially if you are just coming into town, to get your bearings and learn about the food. After this tour, we went back to one of the restaurants for more amazing food and it was even better. Marcos was our host on Saturday (our first full day) and he was so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. He was happy to answer any questions we had and made this tour top -notch. He also asked us questions towards the end of the tour to customize things we wanted to try. We’ve never done a food tour at any of the places we have visited in Mexico, but this is a must-do in Mérida. Thank you so much Marcos for your hospitality and for sharing this amazing city and food with us!!!! 💕🇲🇽 Come hungry, and pace yourself!!!

  Laura took us through the markets and centrum areas. Amazing food! She is funny, direct but makes you feel very welcome in the group. She has a lot of good recomendations along the way, but also gave us a lot of other good recomendations around the Yucatan area. Absolute must-try in Merida!

  Sylvie was such a sweet and attentive guide to the food scene in central Mérida! We started with sopa de lima and made our way thru the busy market. It can be easy to get lost in markets like these! But we had a great group who got along and were very friendly. The tacos al pastor were amazing and the torta lechón was also super delicious. It may seem like the agua fresca is too much to drink but you'll be glad to have it at the later stops. We had a great time with Sylvie and recommend her tour.

  Laura was a wonderful guide giving us the information and history behind the foods and the preparation. The food we enjoyed for the most part. It was a little frenetic in the market so not a relaxing experience but otherwise very enjoyable. We absolutely loved the empanadas. The fruit juices were lovely as well.

  Sylvi was amazing. We enjoyed a wide range of delicious dishes at places I would never have found on my own. She managed everything in two languages with grace and humor, sharing cultural knowlege along with yummy treats. Take this tour!!!

  Such a fun way to immerse yourself in the culture of Merida. You really get to explore the market area close to centro. The foods and drinks were so good. Now, I can go back and get some on my own. Thanks for the experience

  This was an absolutely lovely experience! One of my favourite tours. Marcos was wonderful. However, I WOULD NOT recommend this for vegetarians or those who have strict dietary requirements. I know that the company has to balance authenticity and accommodation. Even so, the world is changing and accommodating plant-based or alternative dietary restriction is rudimentary. I don't eat pork—so I did sit one of the locations out. I didn't mind; however, I know plenty of people who would. Even so, I would happily book another tour with this company :)
