They know an incredible amount about the city, the history of the drinks, and the local culture, but they share everything in a way that feels conversational and fun. We also had the opportunity to buy some incredibly unique mezcals that we could never find back home.   I booked this alone and was a little nervous at first, but within minutes I felt completely comfortable. The hosts have such a welcoming energy that it quickly felt like hanging out with friends. I learned so much about mezcal, pulque, and the culture surrounding both drinks. By the end of the night I was confidently trying to explain different agaves to strangers like I was suddenly an expert. 🤩

  What I loved most was how natural everything felt. There was no rush, no forced “tour guide” energy, just great conversation, incredible drinks, and a chance to experience a side of the city we never would have found ourselves. The hosts clearly know the local scene very well and are passionate about sharing it with people. I laughed the entire night and genuinely felt sad when the experience ended.

  We booked this experience last minute and ended up loving it. Everything was included and perfectly organized, so we didn’t have to worry about planning where to go, what to order, or how much anything would cost. We could just relax and enjoy the night. The hosts created such a warm atmosphere and shared so much knowledge about mezcal, pulque, and the city itself. It felt authentic from beginning to end.

  I Thought Mezcal and Tequila Were Basically the Same Thing If you are visiting CDMX, do not skip this experience. I came into this tour thinking mezcal and tequila were basically the same thing… I was very wrong. The hosts explained everything in such an interesting and approachable way, and by the end of the night I felt like I actually understood the culture and craftsmanship behind mezcal. I’ve done many Airbnb Experiences around the world and this one stands out because it feels real, personal, and thoughtfully curated.

  We lucked into a private tour with Juan Carlos as no one else had booked it for the night. It was a blast. Juan is very passionate about the subject and is a great story teller. He has created an experience where it feels like you are out with a long lost friend.

  This was so much fun! We tried many different varieties of both pulque and mezcal. We know so much more about the history and preparation methods of these drinks. We also know what to taste for when sampling these drinks. Juan Carlos was not only knowledgeable, but an absolute blast to spend the evening with. Good times!

  Lovely tour with lots of history and culture information about CDMX and a pretty walk around the neighbourhoods. The pulque is really nice - definitely try it and hear about its history. The mezcal tasting was in a beautiful old house and was super interesting and informative. Great hosts all round - thanks so much!
