Korouoma Canyon

Korouoma canyon is millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock. At the center of the valley, it forms a magnificent gorge that drops over 100 meters below its surrounding terrain. It is the main place for ice climbing in the winter but offers much beauty throughout all seasons. The natural phenomenon midnight sun will add to those already stunning views of Lappish landscapes the colors all night long. With its 5km trail, the hiking is easy and relaxing. Be on the lookout for wild animals and floral life! Those unique moments of sunset and sunrise while hiking in the canyon will be captured by our professional photographers. Before heading back to Rovaniemi, as a reward your guide will demonstrate how to set up a fire in the traditional Lappish way by using a flint and bark of fire and will prepare the light barbecue.
