Milford Sound
Take a stunning Scenic Flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, with our fly cruise fly package including a 2-hour Cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the fiord are experienced from all viewpoints. We will fly you from Queenstown over the Southern Alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor-backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks. After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the fiord. After the cruise, your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

5.00Best way to experience Milford Sound from Queenstown. Seeing the mountains from above and descending into the sound via plane was unforgettable. I'm so glad we didn't drive all that way. Great crew and super pilot. And the boat cruise was just the right amount of time.

The views, glacier, Tasman Sea, vessel & aircraft made it such an all in one excursion! “Smooth” Jason our pilot was incredibly skilled, as we watched a bouncy landing by another pilot. Not only did we have a smooth flight, the landing was perfect. I highly recommend this all in one opportunity, best $ spent in NZ…

5.00What a day! Truly an incredible experience and a must do while in Queenstown. Josh our pilot was outstanding, give us a great flight and tour in the air. I couldn’t recommend this enough!

5.00The flight to and from Milford Sound allows you to see all of the amazing attractions of this area from a completely different perspective. Our pilot Tanmay was outstanding with good commentary, although as is often the case in small planes, some of that commentary was difficult to decipher. The cruise was also superb, with the Skipper from Pure Milford providing a fantastic narrative. We were somewhat unlucky on this occasion with little wildlife to view in the Sound. That’s nature though, as my last trip more than a decade ago had seals, penguins and dolphins everywhere. Thoroughly recommend this tour using True South who were completely professional from pickup at the hostel to the drop-off back to the hotel some 5 hours later.

5.00Absolutely fabulous day on the Coach-Cruise-Fly tour. Coach ride there was amazing, Norm the driver did a great job with his commentary. Cruise was lovely and the Sound was incredible. But the star of the trip was Lily’s flight over the Glaciers to Mt.Aspiring. She did an amazing job pointing out sites whilst taking us over so many glaciers and mountains. Absolutely stunning!!! Thank you Lily for making the end of our day so special. It will be a lifetime memory!!!
Flight could easily be more impressive than cruise on a sunny day, so please fly with them.

5.00Josh the pilot casually nailed it as he had done many times before. It's our first time flying a fixed-wing and we were a bit worried about the turbulence at first. It turned out quite steady throughout the journey, and the landing was SMOOTH (a lot smoother than big planes). Besides the flight, we enjoyed the cruise as much as the flight. The pier was quite packed, but the cruise controlled the number of guest quite well; at least we didn't have to fight for a spot to see the waterfall. We appreciate the free pick-up and drop-off service as well! It made the whole trip a lot more organised and smoother. The team really cooperate well and made our day! Last but not least, shout out to the administration team who provided clear instruction and reminded us a week, two days & a day before the event.

5.00An absolutely fantastic experience. Got to view the mountains from right alongside, some glaciers and ice lakes from the aircraft. Saved ourselves a 3hr drive each way, even longer if you stop and look at the various lookouts along the way. Highly recommend. If I had one complaint it would be that it was very hard to hear the commentary from the pilot over the aircraft noise. Very little turbulence, but I imagine that some days might be tougher than others. Also, subject to weather conditions at Milford. A rainy day that brings in low cloud can possibly cancel a flight, but you can drive in and enjoy the waterfalls generated by the rain. Personally, I enjoyed the flight in and out and would recommend to anyone, if the budget allows.
